I just don't understand what the fuss is all about. I don't hang out with any hipsters, but to show a hatred towards such a group without even knowing them on an individual basis shows some negative character in yourself. Like, why do (most of you who commented negatively) care how they dress or socialize? What's the actual reason that it bothers you? People live their whole lives hating people they don't even know. Does that make any sense to anybody here? While dressing up as they do may not be for me, it's clear that they enjoy doing so. I don't even know what to say... It's not like they're dressing up like each other BECAUSE they want to be like one another, did it ever occur to you that perhaps the reverse was in effect and they group together BECAUSE they have common interests? Even if they are copying each other, which I'm sure most individuals labeled as hipster aren't even doing, why is that a problem? Why would they even chill with non hipsters anyway, it seems most people would be mumbling under their breath how much they hate them . They are not mindless drones, I don't even know where anyone would come up with such a terminology about "hipsters".

With all that being said, there are most definitely judgmental hipsters who ridicule people who, coincidentally, they feel dress like the mainstream. I do not view this as being any better, I find both sides of this whole thing ridiculous .

I wish my mind was a little clearer today while I debated this topic!

on topic, people who try to get themselves to look/dress/act like a hipster, then look around and go "gosh darn, i'm sucha hipster!" need a frying pan, so i can violently attack them. People who are, or were before the whole thing exploded, i hope they can live in peace without strange folk stalking them going "oohemgee, i like his glasses" - his glasses, which happen to be perscription - "oh yeah dood, tootlyy, i lovee his flannel shirt" - which he bought for a practical reason, other than, "looky gee folks, i can be a hipster!" and something more like "huh, that looks pretty warm..."

but i guess everyone needs to belong somewhere, to have a slice of identity like i'd like a slice of pizza right now...ahh
