They become institutionalized and accustomed to jail life like big daddy said. Hell there have been criminals in jail that have run an outside street gang. In jail they are protected by all of there boys and if they can run the main show from the inside who is going to arrest them on the outside?

Makes you wonder if the government is actually doing what they are supposed to be doing.

Allright for all of you non death penalty beleivers check this one out.

A man from Fargo North Dakota was found in Cour de lane (sp) with a nine year old girl who had been kidnapped by the man from Fargo AKA Duncan was his last name.

Anyways He was found with the girl in Fargo that he kidnapped. This man shot and killed both of her parents in front of the girl took her and her eight year old brother out to Idaho. Chopped the little eight year old boy into pieces after he molested him.

He took the nine year old girl. He raped her a 42 year old man raped a nine year old girl. His intentions then were to take the girl out into the country rape her again and then kill her.

Authorities found the man just in time. Now this little girl has to grow up without any parents (The same parents that she had to see killed with her own two eyes.) She has no brother (Who she had to watch be molested and chopped up.) She has to live with the thought of being raped herself for the rest of her life.

No family left, and the images that will run through that little girls brain for the rest of her life.

The man (Duncan) will charged with either life in prison or the death penalty. They rip that stupid motherfuckers cock right off shove it down his throat, make him bend over backwards and take it in the ass from every single inmate in prison. Then they should break his fucking legs and let him rot in prison with no food or no water until he dies. That is the way his death penalty should be assigned.

Sorry if I come off as a little vulgar and graphic but this really pisses me off. There is nothing worse in life then a child molestor these are the worst type of people that are on the planet and If I would every run across a child molester in the act of doing something like that I would punch him in the fucking nose until he was dead. Then after he was dead I would punch that sadistic son of a bitch some more.

You all have a nice day and dont work to hard.

^I don't think a comfortable wait in prison [normally solitary- so they won't get raped or beaten senseless], and a painless death is the right punishment for any man that would do such a thing. The story of this girl is so sad, and now to see her face so much on the news... She was raped and abused already, I don't think the media needs to do it a second time around.

We aren't really sure about the afterlife...so we're not sure he'll face punishment anywhere else but here. If offenders like this face the death penalty, which I disagree with, I hate that they literally get away with all they've done. I wish before all of it they could face the terror and pain that they inflicted on their victims.. cus otherwise, it's just not justice.

I believe in the death penalty and I don't believe in an afterlife. There are practical issues besides the moral ones which make the death penalty the best option. People often forget that keeping someone alive in a prison for the rest of their lives isn't free. It costs a vast amount of money, several hundred pounds (or close to a thousand dollars) every day, and personally I would like to see my taxed earnings going towards a worthwhile cause rather than seeing some serial murderer live out the rest of his (or her) life in relative comfort.

I do not think it is fair to give murderers, who kill purely for the thrill (excluding crimes of passion etc.) a chance to rehabilitate in prison and then be released as normal, functional members of society. Whether they actually can be rehabilitated is not the issue - they voided their right to become rehabilitated when they committed their crimes.

Morality always exceeds practicality. If not, then you're a sell-out.

I think you have to take practicality into account, especially when the morality, in my mind, is taken care of. I have no problem with "playing God", so to speak, because I don't believe in God and so taking his role is no problem.

The moral reasons are never particularly compelling either way because you have to take into account religion and other things which are hard to agree on. However, the practical arguments are very strong and this is mainly why I am in favour of the death penalty.

I'm all opposed to the official death penalty, though if someone was to kill someone, it would be morally acceptable for an acqaintance of the one who recieved death, to go and kill the killer.

I can't stand a system which thinks they have the right to kill a man.

i agree but its not helpful when you get somone taking that rule into their own hands first and create the murder etc.

How about this: Recently Connecticut executed a man, the first one in some 50 years, because he refused to file any more appeals. It was a big deal because people thought he was incapable of making that decision himself. What do you think about this?

I think if someone wants to die they should be allowed to, yet I think if the person is a serial killer or something (like this guy) and wants to die, we should make him sit in jail, which would be a worse punishment.

I say yes to the death penalty for the real serious cases like stated before, child rapists, pedophiles (sp)in general...
Computer games don't affect kids. I mean, if Pac-Man had affected us as kids, we would all be running around darkened rooms, munching magic pills, and listening to repetitive electronic music.
