Death Penalty

What is everyones views on the death penalty? For? Against? Why?

I think the death penalty should exist for 1 type of criminal and only one. Serial child rapists and child killers. And todays methods of execution are to easy for them, they should go back to hanging.

i totally agree with you. serial child rapist and child killers are pretty much the only ones who i think needa face the death penalty. as for the hanging part, im not so sure. people would consider that barbaric. they sould go back to the very first type of lethal injection. my friend use to be the guard who oberserved and kept the people watching calmed down. he said that the first type went strait the the persons head and that the person can feel thier body slowly dying off. bad thing is that takes too long for them to die

i agree also, as long as there is solid proof, i dont want some innocent person bein` a victim of bad judgement.

I think the death penalty is fine just the way it is right now. Only problem i have with it, is that a person can stay on death row for 50+ years, costing taxpayers thousands of dollars every year. If your convicted of a crime, and sentenced to die then execute the person.

The old knock on the death penalty is what if a person is innocent? But with the technology that exist today, prosecutors can present more than enough evidence to find the defendent 100% guilty.

If a person is fucked in the head enough to kill somebody, then 15 or 25 years of prison isn't gonna change that. Same with pedo's. Fry 'em.

I agree wit Higher, the death penalty should exist but only for the sickest and most twisted people on the planet, the kind of people that need to get the fuck out of our world for everyone's good, including their own.

I'm against the death penalty, 100% regardless of the crime... People shouldn't play god. I don't believe in eye for an eye.. because that's not what it is. Killing the person guilty of whatever crime isn't going to bring back the victim or change what happened, it's just more death.

Im with jus.me. Its wrong to kill someone for a crime no matter what! When there dead they really havnt paid for their crime in terms of a life long sentence. There is only one person who if caught should have faced the death penalty and thats Hitler. But im kinda biassed!
Death doesnt solve anything.

Yeah , I kinda agree with ya on that. Death is easy compared to life in prison. One you are gone you are gone, waking up each day in prison for every day of the rest of your freaking life is much harder. But for ped's and serail rapists, I think they should die. If its not just for an example or something. alot of times people who get death aren't really true bad to the bone criminals. They are people who have made terrible mistakes due to certain things in their life. And death penalty is gonna affect the family of the person more than the guys himself. Mama and the kiddies will be foreever sad...

Man, its quite an issue, there are pros and cons to all

i understand what yous are saying, but think about when your on the tother side of the fence when one of your family members has been murdered by some crazy fuckhead on a killing spree i.e. yorkshire ripper and mark hobson. your gonna think a lot differenly, i suppose theres always those strong people who say that theyve forgiven the killer or something ridiculous like that - just doenst wash with me

I would be devastated just like any other normal person! But to have them put to death would not be my idea of justice. I would want to see that person imprisoned and in as much discomfort as possible for the rest of their life.

the death penalty doesnt make sense anymore. (well maybe if you're in Saudi Arabia or Singapore it does)..

* Rapists should have that vein cut and left open to bleed. you know the one that runs under the ball sac. Child molestors also. Gruesome maybe. but i think thats a definite deterrent to other would be rapists/molesters.
* Serial killers are just plain psychotically crazy and should be locked away in straight jackets with the key thrown away.

i think the rest should be subjected to 24/7 videos of Michael Jackson jerking off. Just the thougt of that should take care of most world crime..
