if any of you read the magazine NewScientist it has a great article about how time is just something we've created. I'll bring it home from work 2morrow and post some parts from it.

Nice little throry but it is a little flawed... Time is a unit that we (the people that only use 23% of our brains) invented. Time would exist with or without us, but for us to accept it, we have to quantify it. Meaning that we are responsible for how fast it goes.
Future events cannot have already happened based on the arguments in the text as even if we do only use 23% of our brains, time would not have already gone by. If the argument were true, what is the true speed of time?
Time is based on our understandings of celestial orbits. It is not faster than what we make it. And the speed of time is not a universal constant, like the speed of light.
The theory is nice, but for me, it doesn't hold together...

time is one hell of a trippy concept
humans did indeed create the concept of time, but we have nothing to do with time itself, as Nessus said, time would pass with us here or not.
even though the concept is flawed it was probably a hell of alot of fun to think up.........

Time is just measuring what is happening with numbers. You cant travel back in time because the past is not being recorded by anything, in order to get into somethings past you have to check it's history, and since our lives don't have memory banks of instances that we can just jump back into time travel will never work.
