A new study out shows if you own an iPhone, you're probably getting luckier with more people than those who own other smart phones.
Dating site OkCupid conducted the study of almost 10,000 and found iPhone users have the most sexual partners, followed by Blackberry users and finally Android users.
OkCupid conducted the study by digging into the data of what smart phone camera was used to take the profile pictures of their members. They then cross-referenced this data with members who had taken surveys called "The Slut Test" or "The Dating Persona Test," which ask for a count of sexual partners.
In one approach, the survey sample was restricted to men and women who were 30 years old, so experience was not a factor.
The study found male iPhone owners at 30 years old had accumulated 10 sexual partners over the lifetime and female iPhone owners had 12.3.
Among the BlackBerry owners at 30 years old, the number was 8.1 for men and 8.8 for women.
Among Android owners, the average man had accumulated just six sexual partners in his lifetime, while the average woman had accumulated only 6.1.
I'm with andria on this one, the relationship between the two is definitely apparent.
I gotta disagree though, the iPhone was probably one of the best phones I've ever used.. especially the 3GS. The camera/video is amazing, it's got music (and 8-16-32gb hard drive), a loud speakerphone, almost an unlimited amount of games, and is the most modifiable phone on the market as it's basically an operating system. I'm with you though that the touch screen keyboard sucks, but once they develop the finger syncing (like most touch screens have now) and for it to vibrate whenever you touch a key. THAT one, the vibrating touch pad makes it extremely easy to use. The main problem is you have to actually look at the phone though to use it unlike other phones where you memorize the key placement and don't even need to pay attention to txt fine.
It is amazing has badly correlational data is interpreted these days, and it is amazing how many people get sucked into thinking that figures based on correlational data should be read as fact. Ridiculuous. I guess this is the kind of thing the fat cats rely on to sell sell sell. Brainwashing through the power of suggestion. Toonces is prolly right, I wouldnt be at all suprised if Apple threw money at some research lab to make their products sound more desirable.
