Help with friend :(
Ok i'm gonna try and keep this short. Basically one of my close friends is pregnant, i'm happy and exited for her and her boyfriend (who is also a close friend). Although recently me and her haven't been so close. I know with pregnancy comes hormones and mood swings and all that stuff (heck, i'm gonna have to deal with all that one day), but she's just been so off with me lately. And with everything that i've had to deal with at the moment it's hard. She called me an attention seeker because i was upset and i didn't tell her what was wrong straight away. The thing is she didn't even ask me properly.
I dunno i don't wanna sound horrible because i really want to be there and be supportive for her but it's kinda like she thinks that because she's pregnant the whole world revolves around her and no one elses problems matter any more. And i don't think that because you're pregnant that is an excuse to just disregard everyone elses feelings. She also recently said that when you're pregnant you realize who your real friends are and the ones who you thought were close don't bother and the others who weren't so close do. And i can't help but feel like this was somewhat directed at me, because i've been kinda keeping my distance because of how she's been with me, i can't deal with it right now.
But the thing is she doesn't seem to realize that other people are going through stuff too and i don't feel like i can be around her if she's going to be rude and off with me. She has no idea what's going on with me and my life and she has the audacity to pretty much demand attention just because she's pregnant? Don't think so. Yes it's exciting and scary, and it is a big deal but still, she's not the only pregnant woman in the world. And if she's going to throw any support i try and give back in my face by having a mood swing at me then it just makes me think why do i bother?
She was completely fine with me before she was pregnant, but now it's like our friendship is breaking apart. She intimidates me now because i never know whether she's going to bite my head off or put me down or something. Please, be honest with me here. Am i being unreasonable to want just a little respect from a friend who just happens to be pregnant? Or should i just ignore it and put up with her crap because she's pregnant and 'can't help it'?
I'm so confused and i feel like the bad guy(girl) in all this.

Re: Help with friend :(
Sounds like she is using being pregnant as an excuse to act like a diva. Pregnant or not if she throws the support you give her back in your face, then you need to be the bigger person and walk away. The fact that she thinks you are trying to take the attention off her is laughable. Like you said, she isn't the only pregnant woman in the world. There is no use wasting your time on a devil bitch. In the end when she needs someone to babysit for her she will probably come crawling back to you.
If peacing out isn't your style, then have a serious talk with her. Tell her everything you said here. If she still acts like a chicken with her head cut off, imo, you should cut off all contact with her. If she is a real friend she will break down and call you to apologize.
Like I'm actually really pissed that she would say "Being pregnant shows you who you're real friends are." What kind of shit is that? If anything she is pushing you away with her rotten attitude. Ugh.

Re: Help with friend :(
Thanks for the replies. I'm just feeling really hurt by this, i won't go into detail but things are a little hard for me atm, i know i'm not the only person with problems but like i said, she's not the only pregnant woman either and i just want her to realize this. I too was angered by the comment she made about being pregnant and friends. It may or may not be directed at me but either way i found it incredibley selfish and stupid. There could be all sorts of reasons as to why people 'haven't bothered' you know? Family tradegy, illness, emotional problems etc. Absolutely anything and she has no idea because she's wrapped up in her "i'm pregnant everyone look at me" bubble.
I think i'm gonna wait untill the next time i see or speak to her and see how she is with me. If she acts how she has been acting then i might just have to have a talk with her and go from there. Just to let her know that things aren't easy for me either, and i want us to both understand how each other is feeling without any animosity. I want to be there and be supportive for both my friends throughout the whole thing but she is making it increasingly difficult for me to do that.
Edit: Also bubbles i have to dissagree with what you've said. My auntie is having a baby for the third time and never has she been unpleasent or demanding of attention from any of her friends or family. Yes she's exited about it, but she's always been pretty much her normal self.

i always avoid preggos cause they always act like they know absolutely everything and there is no convincing them otherwise, and yes hormones infact do change people A LOT, just ask trannies.

Tell her you'll be there for her as much as possible, but that, just like her, you have a life of her own, and just tell her you think she's been rude to you. If you explain it properly she should understand you, case solved!
Good luck though!
