that's High Def + photoshop.

Nice pics man, I like the sky pictures.
Computer games don't affect kids. I mean, if Pac-Man had affected us as kids, we would all be running around darkened rooms, munching magic pills, and listening to repetitive electronic music.

In image processing, computer graphics, and photography, high dynamic range imaging (HDRI or just HDR) is a set of techniques that allow a greater dynamic range of luminances between the lightest and darkest areas of an image than standard digital imaging techniques or photographic methods. This wider dynamic range allows HDR images to more accurately represent the wide range of intensity levels found in real scenes, ranging from direct sunlight to faint starlight.[1]

The two main sources of HDR imagery are computer renderings and merging of multiple photographs, which in turn are known as low dynamic range (LDR)[2] (also called standard dynamic range (SDR)[3]) photographs.

Tone mapping techniques, which reduce overall contrast to facilitate display of HDR images on devices with lower dynamic range, can be applied to produce images with preserved or exaggerated local contrast for artistic effect.

Basically photo manipulation, known to people who use photoshop as photomanips, basically layering and playing with it in photoshop without adding anything to the picture. Just messing with whats already in the picture.

The way to go about it is to take at least 3 exposures, but often more, and layer them. Each exposure is a different timing, from short to long, so you get highlights, mid tones, and shadows all represented very well in one image.

yeah, although you could do that in photoshop by creating three seperate layers and changing the levels on each...
i might try it if i get a good photo at some stage

It stands for high dynamic range. I didn't read previous posts, but it basically more dynamics between darks and lights.

by doing so, it just increases the contrast between colours. While HDR makes images look surreal when they are indeed real. :) Idk if that explains it well. I'm usually pretty bad at explaining things... hm. I think this would explain it fairly well. Short, simple and to the point. http://photomatthieu.blogspot.com/2008/ ... t-hdr.html

In order to shoot HDR images... you'll have to take 3 shots of the same thing with different f stops. (one regular another over and under exposed) then you layer them and fix the contrast which will allow you to see detail everywhere. Although I think HDR looks cool, it doesn't always work with everything and half the time is over rated..
