Has anyone here been in the US Navy?(need advice)
I was joining the Air Force as of a month ago but now i have changed my mind.
I will be joining the US Navy in about 1 month.
I have stopped smoking weed as of like 3 days ago so i can get my ass in shape and have a clean system. I was just wondering if anyone here has been in the military or US Navy and has any information or advice they could give me.
Even if you haven't been in the Navy and have advice i'd be glad to hear it...I'm 19 years old about to start my life (started school a year late), I just graduated high school also.
I've recieved some advice about saving your first 2 paychecks and then you will be set. I dunno guys i'm just lookin for some help, so if you have any words of wisdom before I sign up and before i get sent to bootcamp and my first assignment, i'd be more than happy to read them and apply them.
thanks everyone weedguru is the shit even if you don't smoke weed anymore.

my friends brother was going to join the airforce but he failed a drug test so now he has to wait like 45 days to take the test again. if i were you, i would join the airforce cause they seem to have the easiest go at it, thats what my gramps says anyways, he was a marine in the korean war

I dont have any advice only past experience from friends...
AIRFORCE - Okay my friend that was in the airforce was there for about 15 months or something and bascially he worked on turbines. He got low pay and extremely long hours, hard work and basically was just their work mule to abuse. All he did was work then go to the bars in texas and drink (he was 18-19 then). Wasn't very enjoyable but the only good thing that came from it was from the experience he got from air force allowed him to get the job he has now. He works on drills, the big drills used to dig into the earth to drill down to the oil. he repairs and works on those. (makes about 1000 a week for his current work)
NAVY - Not much to say about the navy it might be the best choice avaible but I dont know anyone in the navy. My dad was in the navy in the 1960's but everything has changed by now. I think there are some good options in the navy though but its something to look into. (ask people in the navy NOT recruiters!!!)
ARMY - Basically if you go into the army you go to the oil war, its not a choice and when you get out you have nothing that can translate to a job. So basically after you get out of the army (if you survive) your back to a min wadge job taking orders from annoying pissed off customers. I mean theres a possibility that you can move up rank but still...
well hope that helped

I don't want to work for Bush dude, nor do I even remotely like or respect him. There will be a new president by the time im done with all my training and everything (bout a year or so).y would you want to work for Bush? Fuck that dude!
Hopefully there will be peace soon in the future but I'm not really seeing that for the US because we always fighting someone or picking on a country regardless of size.
Hopefully the Navy will keep me out of combat because there is no sea in Iraq or Afgan. lol
keep it comin

I don't wish to insult you Matten. Not because I know you personally and care deeply for your feelings nor because I find it hard to chuck my views at people when I know they will cause unrest. The reason I want to try keep this post partly diplomatic is because you give me the impression that your reasons for joining the Navy are honourable...However, I strongly advise you to read, absorb and try and hard as possible to understand exactly what US forces are fighting for these days. Also to discover how corrupt and fucked up the US government is now, has been for decades and will be until an apocalypse pulls the carpet from underneath the feet of the heathens who run this planet.
Whether your intentions are Honourable or not, you join any US force which compels you to carry out the orders of scum and you become the slave of scum. That is a simple and very easy to fathom law. The british fighting forces are rotten enough but the yankee military (alongside the Israeli death machine) is the scourge of this world. There is no honour to be had from taking orders from bloodless slime which doesn't give a fuck about anything but $$$$$$$$. It is akin to selling your soul to the devil for all the wrong reasons...By all means sell it for Love, for Forgiveness, for Good, but not to add to the bank balances of some of the most evil people ever to walk this Earth with their black hooves of Death, Greed and Dishonour...Is there not a Force you can join which only gets into combat on AMercian SOil if American Soil is invaded???
On a lighter note, I am also giving up the green. At least for a while. Till my head clears. But that may not happen because I am weakly but understandably, replacing Skunk with Dark Rum. So instead of thinking excessively I am now feeling excessively which for a Man in my Shoes spells Trouble. Still, it is worth a pop!
