Living in the Past
Have you ever seriously sat down and wondered what it would be like to live in the past? Like, the Middle Ages, Salem Witch Trials, or even during the Roman Empire. I would love to experience living during the Aztec Empire, seeing human sacrifices and stuff. How about you all?

Re: Living in the Past
Yes, I've been thinking about how cool it must've been to live in the Middle Ages, well except for the witchhunting, heretic bullshit and crusades, and evil landlords killing peasants.Princess_Ayana wrote:Have you ever seriously sat down and wondered what it would be like to live in the past? I mean, there was nature everywhere, just walk through field upon field upon field without having cars around you, no busy cities and stuff like that.
You could really go on an adventure back in those days, or just set up a house in the middle of nowhere without anyone bothering you (except for bands of robbers and the aforementioned evil landlords
Computer games don't affect kids. I mean, if Pac-Man had affected us as kids, we would all be running around darkened rooms, munching magic pills, and listening to repetitive electronic music.

'70s for me, I wish I was born young enough to live my adolescent life in the '70s I just love the music, and watching the Doors would be fantastic
yes, I know my first choice were the Middle ages, but hell nothing beats the '70s

i have stopped and thought what it would have been like to live in the past
and it would suck if you had ever lived in present times. the missing medical care, hygenie, runnign water etc
but if you had only ever known that time period it would be fine. a lot of hard work to do anything (breakfest or a bath etc) but youd be used to it.
what would be trippy would be the different classes. i know we ahve them now but where i live i your not exposed to such a wide variety of different economic classes, well you are but you just dont notice. if you lived in a mud hut and down the street was a fucking castle, the difference would be trippy.

i some times sit and wonder about taking some of today's technology back to say the 1800's... what effect that would have
on our development... would we already all be dead or robots... what would our environment be like? better? worse?
i also wish i could go back to the time Naismith created basketball... and be a pioneering teacher... that
would have been cool!

that's why I like the outlander series so much. You have a modern woman in ancient times...and she brings into use things like...penicillin and ether. People who should have died, don't. What if because you were there, Hitler died when he was supposed to live? The whole butterfly effect is amazing. Example. If I sang songs by Queen then, Freddie Mercury might not have been so famous..and his death might not have brought Aids into such wide attention, and we wouldn't have the medical advances we have now. What ifs galore!

"Can’t repeat the past?…Why of course you can!"
