Possibly laced weed... Confused.
I just want to start out by saying that I've searched the forums and read a few topics on the same subject, but I whole-heartedly believe that every experience is different from person to person and I couldn't find anything like what I'm about to describe.
This is a very lengthy post - I remember every detail about what happened and I'd like to share it all to see if anyone has had similar experiences.
For starters, I've smoked before. Never regularly, but I did it and enjoyed it. I have a point of reference between what happened the other day and what I think of as a "normal" high. I worked at a place for the past year and a half or so that drug tested religiously, so I put the pipe down for a while, but after quitting, I decided to toke up again in celebration and started looking for hook-ups amongst my friends. I bought a gram from someone I found on Saturday night and stashed it away for later while I hung out at my cousin's house.
We went to the store to pick up some beer - I wasn't drinking at the time, so I drove. When we got back, there was a guy at my cousin's house. I didn't know him, but my cousin's wife did and she told me he was alright. When he offered to smoke a bit with me, I jumped on the chance. Nobody else there smoked, so the two of us went across the street to his house. He packed a bowl, but I wasn't really watching him - might have been my first mistake. My second mistake might have been taking the first hit. I took one good hit. Not a big one, I didn't think, but I was coughing like I just smoked the whole god damn bowl. I felt like I was going to throw up. I'm not lightweight, but it's been a few years and I wasn't even hardcore about it. But I've taken bigger hits than that before. After the cough died down, I took another smaller hit and didn't take anymore after that.
It kicked in real fast. Maybe 5 minutes after my first hit, I got that sticky, thick saliva feeling. Not sure if it happens to everyone, but it's something I've only felt after smoking a blunt with someone else, which was a lot of weed for me at the time and tore me up. But it didn't happen as fast as it did the other day. Within another few minutes, everything was "crawling over its self" if that's a clear enough picture. It just looked like everything I was seeing was made of small circles that were spinning somewhat slowly. Right then and there, I thought about asking him if there was something else in the weed, but didn't.
I chilled for a few minutes, I think. I lost track of time at that point. My cousin and his wife came over and knocked on the door. I'm thankful they did, as I didn't think I would be able to get up and leave. I knew I could, but I couldn't make myself do it. When I stood up to go, I felt a lot like I do when I drink a lot. A little disjointed, tunnel vision and that kind of cool, good feeling. I felt like I was standing at about a 60 degree angle from the floor. When I inhaled, I could kind of "see" the air going in to my lungs and feel it much more than I normally would. I had to stop in the middle of inhaling because it was so intense. I was able to move and walk straight, but it felt strange. This is when the really weird shit started happening.
I was really thirsty and remembered I had a Pepsi in my car. I walked over to my car to the passenger side where I was parked on the street and saw that my window was open. I asked my cousin if he left it open when we came back from the store and I think he said no. When I looked down, I thought I saw broken glass on the street and immediately "knew" my car had been broken in to. I was yelling to my cousin, telling him about it, but he didn't seem to understand what I was saying until he got closer. He said he left the window open and I asked him why the glass was on the road, but when I looked down - surprise, no glass. I got in to my car, sitting in the passenger seat, and reached over to start my car and roll up the window. It probably took about 30 seconds, but I feel like it took an hour. After I did that, I grabbed my drink and went inside.
The stuff happening to me seemed to come in "phases" from that point on. The first one was a mellowish one. My cousin and the other girl there went to McDonalds, so I was at his house with his wife. I was talking to her about the usual pothead stuff, I'm sure, and sitting on the floor. Whenever I looked around, it was like my eyes were staying focused on one spot while my head was moving, and only tracking the movement of my head every second or so. Like low framerates in a computer game if you've seen that before. I also felt rather weird. I kept reaching up to touch my mouth because I wasn't sure if I was smiling or not. I remember feeling my teeth, so I guess I was grinning like a retard the whole time. Probably stupid to say so, but I thought I could hear their cat thinking, too, even though I couldn't actually hear it (and wasn't hearing it falsely, either). Towards the end, I told myself in my head that I could control what I was experiencing and the "laggy vision" stopped for a few seconds before it started back up again. It did die off eventually.
The next "phase" was a little scary. I got up and was walking around. I felt my heart beating really fast and my fingers getting cold. I got very shaky and flushed and wasn't feeling too good at all. I thought my heart was going to explode. I gave up on my Pepsi for a while and managed to ask my cousin's wife if she had a cup I could use for some water. She told me where it was and I found it pretty easily, drank a few drinks of water and still wasn't feeling much better. I got a little panicky, but don't think (or was trying not to, anyways) let my cousin's wife see it. She was on the phone with someone, but I couldn't hear/understand a word she was saying. I then went over and sat on the couch. The shakes and rapid heartrate continued. I wasn't sure what was going on, but I tried to breath deeply and relax. I eventually came down from it.
My cousin's wife went outside, so I followed, took my Pepsi and sat down on a chair on the front porch, feeling fairly mellow for a few minutes. Things got really scary here. I remember talking to her a little, walking back and forth on the porch and looking for my cousin's car, but I don't recall the order in which any of this stuff happened. The scary part was when I was sitting down. I wasn't able to see anything but shapes, colors and strange things I couldn't explain. I could sort of see the houses, cars, etc. "around" the stuff I was seeing, but it was almost all blacked out. I was thinking to myself about it all, not sure how good or bad it was, not sure if I liked it or not. At that point, I heard a voice just screaming at me. It sounded like my own voice, but I don't know. It was just screaming. I can't remember anything it said, but it sounded very violent, angry and frightening. It made me very uncomfortable, but at the same time, there was a more calming, relaxed voice that was telling me it was going to be okay. I think that was me thinking, but I honestly do not know.
I don't know how long this lasted, but when I came out of it, all I could remember was that I was burping uncontrollably. I wasn't sure if I actually was burping. I asked my cousin's wife and she said I was, but I'm not sure if I was burping as much as I thought I was. It felt almost non-stop. I kind of blamed it on the Pepsi. I got pretty mellow and relaxed again at that point, but I was seeing spinning lights. It's hard to explain - picture a lines like this : ||||||| Each one was a different color, like a rainbow. About 6 of them were arranged into a polygon, and each "row" would sort of light up in a spinning, counter-clockwise manner. I saw two of them in front of me with my eyes closed, and also heard a really strange beeping sound, like a smoke detector. I considered asking my cousin's wife if she heard it, but had enough sense even in that state of mind to know that I was the only one hearing it.
When my cousin got home, we went inside and I sat on the couch and sort of kept to myself. They got me some fries and a cheeseburger, but I was absolutely not hungry. At that point, I was pretty certain it wasn't just weed - I always get hungry when I get high. My cousin asked me if I was okay to drive home, but I knew I wasn't.
I vegged out on the couch for a bit and managed to eat some fries. The most frightening part of the night, and possibly the most frightening thing that has ever happened to me began occurring at this point. When I swallowed the fries, it seemed like I was having a hard time swallowing. Breathing also felt strange. I didn't think too much of it at first, but I started sort of thinking in the back of my mind that something inside me was swelling up. I ate more fries just to see if it still felt that way and, of course, it did. I started to really panic, though as before, I was trying not to show it outwardly and I'm not sure if anyone noticed. I started thinking that my lungs were swelling and expanding, literally, inside of my body. My chest felt tight and my throat felt swollen and I thought it was starting to squeeze out of my neck. When I started thinking rationally, that it couldn't really be happening, I remembered that I had been burping since being out on the porch almost constantly.
I instantly went in to pure dread, thinking that the swelling and expansion of my lungs was squeezing gasses out of my stomach and intestines, causing me to burp. Externally, I wasn't moving much. I was touching my neck, chest and stomach, trying to feel for the swelling and looking down at myself a bit, but I don't think it was enough to cause anyone any alarm, as nobody seemed to have any concern for my health - and these are people that care about me and would certainly notice something. I had never been as frightened, internally, as I was then, though. I knew I was going to die. I thought maybe he put something in the weed that I was allergic to, or he was some sort of psychotic or something, and that whatever he put in the weed was making my lungs swell up and was going to kill me. That the hallucinations and experiences I was having were all related to being close to death. I was contemplating telling my cousin to take me to the hospital. To reiterate... I have never been more afraid of anything in my life. I don't know how long this lasted, but these thoughts went away rather slowly as I continued to tell myself that if what I thought was happening really was, I'd be in a lot of pain. I also discovered that all of the burping was actually self-induced. I have a way of doing it by forcing air in to, then back out of my throat on cue, and I believe I had been doing this almost all night.
When I came out of this phase, I was mellow and relaxed again. Not really seeing anything or feeling anything but kind of chilled. I have no idea how long it lasted, but when I chilled out, I just started telling myself that if/when I started experiencing these sorts of things again, I should just keep reminding myself that something else was causing it, and that I was at no risk of dying. That calmed me considerably. Even to the point that when I started having other thoughts about dying because of the fact that I was getting cold and feeling weak, that continuing to remind myself that it was all in my head kept it at bay and the feeling receded. From the point of this third "death phase" on, things were all downhill as far as the high is concerned. As I came down, my cousin and his wife were going to bed and I was feeling good enough to eat the cheeseburger. It was still a little warm, so I figured the lung expanding thing couldn't have been too terribly long.
When I fell asleep on the couch, I don't think I've ever slept better. I woke up maybe once or twice before getting up for good. The high was gone very suddenly, it felt, and I don't think I was high anymore when I actually went to sleep after eating the hamburger. It's like a switch in my brain just flicked off and I was normal again.
I have no comprehension of the timeframe of this series of events. It could have lasted an 5 minutes or 5 hours. The last concept of time I have is that it was midnight after I drove over to my cousin's friend's sister's house to buy the weed earlier (which happened before we went to the store to get the beer). It was probably around 1:00am when I lit up with my cousin's wife's friend. I didn't look at a clock at any point after that until I woke up. I seem to remember sunlight peeking out as I went to sleep, so it might have been around 5 or 6 am when I went to sleep. So this high could have lasted 4-5 hours.
This all happened this past Saturday night. When I woke up at around 10:30 on Sunday morning, I felt relatively fine, but still a little out of it. I drove home alright and spent the remainder of the day playing computer games and whatnot. I felt weird almost all day and couldn't really stop thinking about what happened when my mind wasn't on something else.
Overall, I'm undecided on the experience. I'm not sure whether or not I liked it. On one hand, it was frightening and unpleasent. but on the other hand, it was kind of interesting, fun and enjoyable to be able to feel, see and experience such profound things. I remember it very well, but I remember it in the same way one might remember a bad dream. However, I tend to enjoy my nightmares after they happen, if not during.
The guy actually gave me a stem of the stuff with quite a bit (maybe about .3g) still on it. Looking at it, I see small, typically shaped marijuana leafs. It has a frosted appearance to it, and what I think are buds, which have reddish/yellowish hairs on them. I'm just now breaking it up and taking a good look. The weed has almost a crystalline layer of "stuff" on it. I'm not sure if this is normal of really good weed, or some "added" stuff. It has a very pungent aroma, which is sweeter than most weed I've smelled, especially the stuff I bought from the other person. It smells quite good. Some whitish "powder" remains on the bag where I broke it up after putting it back inside the bag.
On with my questions for those more experienced than I...
-Of course, the obvious one: Do you think it was laced? If so, with what?
-If so, is this a typical experience for this drug, or was I just unlucky? If not, why might weed cause this to happen?
-Is it possible any of the things I was feeling were real? That I might have narrowly escape death? Or was it probably really just all in my head?
-Was this guy trying to do something to me or screw with me? He seemed cool enough - had a wife and kids, even. He's a musician. His house was kept as if he had a lot of money and he seemed, overall, like a decent person. I'm willing to assume it's possible that he just wanted to "enhance" my experience, but neglected to let me know. One reason I believe this is because I read here that some of the more "potent" stuff is very expensive and it would be a very expensive "practical joke" on his part. I also don't think he would have given me some of the "suspect weed" knowing I'd probably take a closer look at it after experiencing what I did.
-Should I try it again with an open mind and more mental preparation?
-Any additional insight in to my experience would be appreciated. I wouldn't be mad at the guy for slipping me something. I'm mostly just curious. It was something new for me and I feel like I might have handled it better and had a better time with proper preparation.
If you've made it this far - thank you. I wasn't sure where else to turn or who else to ask about this sort of thing. I haven't spoken to my cousin since Saturday, so I haven't yet asked him if he noticed I was doing or saying anything strange, nor have I talked to the guy who supplied the stuff to ask him if there was a little extra something in his stuff. Thanks again.

some other WGs said that it was just a reallly intense high especially for my first time.... so i unno... on the weed i have like..... theres no white layer or like white powder in the bag, but it smells real strong (not that ive smelled any other weed), and when i break it apart there are these tiny whitepoints in the bud chunks.... i smoked a joint right now... not as much as from the bong... but still high... and its not bad anymore... so im guessing it was just an intense high... but as for you...
was the weed you smoked the stuff you bought? or the stuff your cousin's freind had? cuz who know it could be real potent shit, like.. when i had my tripy high.... i began to see weird warping like colors... all i could really focus on was one thing...and when i was moving my head i couldnt really focus on anything...... i unno
Edit: o ya as for like if it is laced... my best guess would be you had some cocopuffs as my freind calls themm... it was laced with cocaine... especially since you said you saw white powder and stuff???/

It was his shit, not mine. I haven't smoked any of the stuff I bought yet, but I'm probably going to blaze some of it up tomorrow and try it out. I have enough of the other stuff the guy gave me from his stuff for probably two or three small bowls, so I'm still debating whether or not I want to try it out again.
The white powder stuff, I'm really not sure about. Like I said, the weed has this kind of "frosted" look to it, it's hard to explain. I might have to take a picture of it or something. The weed I bought doesn't seem to be real high-quality stuff, but it doesn't have the frost that the stem the guy gave me does.

Yeah, it's on the stem as well as the actual weed and buds. What it was, was kind of a long stem (about 3") with the weed that had grown on it kind of packed together at one end, not like when you get it from someone and it's already broken up. I could actually see the distinctively-shaped little leaves (not fully grown), buds, etc. When I took it off the stem and broke it up as I wrote that part of the post, I really noticed the powdery stuff. It's like a fuzz, kind of like you'd see on a peach, with a frosty white color. It's on the stem, it was on the weed its self and it was inside the clump of weed when I broke it open. It looked a little more crystalline on the inside and seemed to kind of powder off on to the plastic bag I was breaking it up on.

Well hell if it was laced and you seen White stuff. This could've been Powdered Herion, Or Coke. Or various crushed pills. But the fact you said it was sticky completely takes all these drugs away. I'd say you just got some Nice bud, and then the fact that you felt something different caused Panic and Paranoia, and it didn't help you while high. I dont know drugs that last 4-5 hours unless its a pill. And smoking wont make it last that long. So other then that I don't know.

yea it's sounding like you smoked really good bud for your first time. Your just not used to getting extremely baked off really good shit. My first time getting so high I couldn't even stand up let alone move. I felt so weird that we thought it was laced for a few minutes but we knew it was realllly good bud. Like it had a shit load of crystals all over and it was pretty fresh. Just because different strains have different effects on the body doesn't mean it's always laced. Almost 99% of the time you get laced bud, they will tell you and make you pay a lot more for it.

Shitty weed laced with PCP can sell for as much as good weed, and PCP is cheap and easy to make. People think they're just getting trippy weed but it's more than that. If your weed smells like plastic this is what it is.SpRi7e wrote:Almost 99% of the time you get laced bud, they will tell you and make you pay a lot more for it.
Yours was probably not laced though.

If it really is that good, I'm going to smoke another bowl of that shit as soon as I get home. There were lots of those little crystals, and yeah, I think that was the first time I've ever smoked any that actually had the buds in it before. Just the crappy junk my stepsister used to scape out of the bottom of the ash-tray or whatever the hell that crap was. The person here I buy from has some mid-grade stuff that's a good high for the money and that's what I've been hitting lately. But the crazy shit is much brighter green, is freaking covered in those crystals and has the reddish/orangish hairs all over. Too bad I only got a little bit of it. I'm going to have to go ask the guy where he buys it.
