They should look like seeds, I'm not sure exactly what you're asking. If you mean what should they look like after germinating, the shell should be split a little and a little white root should be coming out.

oh okay, i just wanted to make sure the seeds im going to use aren't shitty, i guess the color of them depends on what kind it is but thanks.

they should be brownish for them to be the healthiest.

They should look meaty and brownish (some have black tiger like stripes), if they are tough and don't pop when you squeeze them then they're good to grow (hopefully ;p)

where are they from? you're seeds? what are you growing?

about how long does it take for the seeds to crack using the paper towel method, and when using that method how many times should you put water on the seeds. and should you place a light over the germinating seeds.

It should take anywhere from 1-2 weeks. I wouldn't use the paper towel method because the root can grow to the towel or something. Use the water bottle method for best results.

i have a post like right under yours with the same question almost, anyways, you want them to be big and brown. black is prob bad white is bad you want brown also if you find a brown one squeeze it decently hard and if it survives then its a good seed.. also if your taking about after germinating them, they should have a little white


and valentine, i am doing the paper towel method right now, i have them in a metal top to a box and theres a paper towel down, soaked it, put the seeds on, then put another paper towel over them, i put water on it 2 - 3 times a day, (just poked a small hole in top of water bottle and spray a litle on it each time, its been about 2 weeks now and in about 5 mins im gonna go plant my best seed in the best spot, then find another spot for the rest.
