What is the best way to store weed so that it stays "fresh", so to speak, and ready to smoke? I am NOT reffering to the best way to hide the stash. You see, I am asking this because I have only recently started smoking and realize that I can get a better price if I buy a certain amount at one time rather than buying a little bit every now and then.
My smoking sessions are limited to 2-3 times a month so I probably will be holding on to one buy for a long time and don't want it to get ruined by humidity or mold or something, if that can happen at all. Any suggestions other than smoking it more often?
The best thing to do is to get a zip-loc (one that fits the amount of weed), put it in there, and squeeze all the air out. If you have a heat seal machine you could do that to but thats doubtful. Then store it in a dark place. It'll be good as new.

One important note that was not mentioned is that you should not store wet marijuana, that is what leads to the growth of fungi. If it is wet air dry it in a dark and cool place before sealing up in a bag (another good method is storing it in a glass jar that has a proper seal). Remember, prolonged exposure to light or heat will often be detrimental in terms of potency.
Putting it in the freezer in a ziploc is probably the best... Fungus won't grow on it in the cold and when its cold like that not much can happen to it.
The airtight container+freezer idea sounds good. The only doubt I have about that is if you can try to blaze up while the weed is still frozen (probably not ) or do you leave it out on the counter for it to un-freeze or put it in the oven (warm, not hot I think)? Maybe microwaveing it would work? Geez, sounds like we're discussing cooking don't ya think......
Microwaving and putting in the oven will both potentially harm potency, and I think freezing bud when wet is a bad idea as well. Although it will not mold, it's still wet and gets icy...dry wet weed out no matter what anyone says.
Air-tight glass jar is great. If anything the weed will only cure better with time.

in a bag to be honest. If your fusy then id say in a fridge in a bag. Do not leave your weed out for too long its like food... it has a sell by date. The THC crystals basically die and you just wont get stoned aka bad weed.

But I keep mine either in a ziploc bag..or in the little airtight container in my grinder.
