Guantanamo finally to accept the notion of humanity

which follows the supreme court ruling of last week, which was off a similar nature to the statement fronm th pentagon..

'The Pentagon has insisted that it had treated detainees humanely. However, a report this week from the Centre for Constitutional Rights on conditions at Guantánamo describes interrogations of hooded prisoners with snarling dogs, sleep deprivation that lasted for months, solitary confinement for periods of up to a year, and threats of transfer to countries that practise torture.'

Only the yankee government could call 'snarling dogs, sleep deprivation, no access to legal council, constant abuse' HUMANE...

still, at least finally it appears that the inmates of US military prisons which are dotted around the globe, will now be subject to some basic human rights, which has NOT been the case in the past. It hasb een more of a situation that if the US government put you down as a 'detainee' then you would be afforded the rights of a bothersome gerbil in a room full of hungry cats....

Better late, than never. With access to lawyers and importantly the information which purportedly justifies the incarceration, I would expecy the majority of 'detainees' to be released. America don't want to hold terrorists, they want to kill them, that has been made blatently clear since 2001. Also they (yankee government I mean, NOT all yankees in general) consider the life of anyone against the US o be truly worthless.

All in all good news, but the world stills needs to put pressure on Bush to bring his policies into line with the rest of humanity. Firstly he must understand that life is sacred, then he must be taught tha the earth which we were borne of, is also sacred, in fact a million times more sacred than human beings....
so it is a simple case of education for the President....Anyone up for the job??
