In addition to doing things like catching bad guys and running into burning buildings, cops frequently do little things to help people out that barely get noticed. Like when Eddy County, New Mexico Sheriff's Deputy Kelley stopped to help out two ladies whose van had run out of gas. By the time Kelley arrived at the scene, another motorist had stopped and given them some fuel . So Kelly decided to follow the woman until they got to the next service station. But the woman started speeding. A suspicious Kelly pulled them over and asked them what the deal was. THe woman acted nervous and anxious so the deputy called the drug task force. After checking the fuel tank, it became clear why they had run out of gas. THere was a concealed compartment containing 72 pounds of marijuana that reduced the tank's capacity to almost nothing!
