First Growing Project - Outdoors - Still need help

Post by rusianrocket321 »

Alright here's the deal, I live with my parents (15) and I decided that since I'm a pretty bright kid and to make my smoking life a lot easier, I've decided to start a growing op. I found a nice secluded spot right near a man made lake, so I should avoid attention and the water should be very helpful. I recently purchased 10 Northern Light seeds and plan on starting out only using 3 seeds in my spot to avoid crowding and lessen the attention, also I'm going on the fact that 1 of them will probably be male. After doing much research I am left with only a few questions, but I would also like the counseling and help of the great people we have here at weedguru.com. I plan on uploading pics as soon as I have some to upload lol, and take you guys through my process, so later on this can be used as a realistic step by step guide. As I see it, I'm first going to germinate the seeds (probably going with the paper towl method) and then plant them and begin the vegetative process and go from there, now I have a few questions just to clear some things up.

1). As far as my understanding goes, it isn't wise to begin using fertilizer until 2 leaves have sprouted, then it is best to use some sort of fish fertizilizer and mix it in with the water at about 1/4 of the recomended dose every third time I water the babies. Am I going the right way with this?

2). Is it really neccesary to plant the germinated seeds in a pot until they are about 10-15 cm high with a few leaves, and THEN plant them in the designated spot?

3). I live in Florida, are the temperatures here still too cold during fall/winter to continue outdoor growing all year?

4). I plan on getting the seeds within the next week, should I begin the growing process immidiately or wait for a very nice time, I hear late May is good?

5). When I plant them in the ground, I plan on digging somewhat of a big hole and them filling the top of that hole with planting mix...then waiting until the time is right to begin fertilization, is this okay?

6). Once the plants begin the flowering stages, is there anything different I should begin to do to increase chance of a good yield?

7). I'm pretty familiar with the cycles of a cannabis plant, but if possible could someone tell me what needs to be done at the different stages in it's life, or what should be done to make the plants as nice as possible?

8). Can someone explain as much as they can about pH and how to tell if the soil is sufficient enough to grow in?

Thanks in advance for your help guys and hopefully some nice bud will come of this. :)

1) yes

2) it insures the strength of the plant when it is switched to outdoors

3-4) cold will not be an issue but the heat might be, then again you are a bit farther north than I am so I dont know if the heat is as bad

5) make sure the soil you are using has proper PH levels

6) make sure it's getting proper nutrients and decide wether you are going to grow chemical or organic

I'm not sure how you would measure PH in an outdoor grow but the best way to go about it without measuring it would be to have soil with the proper PH and be familiar with how fertilizers and water will effect the PH.

hope this is helpful...and you better share
