I saw this today very good film about american corporations, oil in the middle east, and how the US government interferes. also shows the difference between what the government says to the public and what they actually want.

it was very sympathetic to the perspective of islam and the way they view the separation of church and state. although its kind of slow at first its necessary build up, but definitely a great film.

left me with a kinda hollow feeling because a part of me still expects a noraml story - start middle and warm conclusion. this is a good film covering extremely relevant world issues, with good acting.
it did its job cos i left the cinema in a very bad frame of mind. its like having all your worst suspicions about the oil industry confirmed in a worryingly realistic narrative/commentary..
good film.
just not something to wacth if you are after laughs or a back seat romantic fondle with your lady..
id say 8/10
and doc, please xplain how you saw the last act of bob?

thinking about it now that last scene of the movie drags you out with anxiousness, fear, and apprehension. the more i think about it the more i think it was an amazing film. i took a girl with me who doesnt look focus much on politics and she seemed to enjoy the movie more than i did.
"Heath Ledger surprised a packed Berlin Film Festival news conference Wednesday night when he remarked that he believes George Clooney deserves the best supporting actor Oscar this year for his performance in Syriana. Jake Gyllenhaal, who appeared in Brokeback Mountain with Ledger (who himself was nominated for a best actor Oscar) is also one of the best supporting actor nominees"
