I wanted to thank everyone for the kind hello, and for those who are wondering who I am, I thought I would say hello.

If you havent seen me around, you probably dont read much of the Grow section. I dont tend to post too much if I dont feel I have anything important to say, thus I am not heavily seen in the "Chillin" or "High" areas. I just normally dont log on to say how stoned I am, or whatever. I try to focus on trying to help people with questions, rather than making statements, posting about being generally wasted, or whatever. I have occasionally posted on some topic or another outside the grow area, but in a limited way where I feel my contribution would either shed some light on my experiences in a topic being discussed, or if I feel strongly about a topic - like animal abuse, child abuse, racist crap, or whatever. And even then I tend to stay out of things, as flame wars are just not my thing - much.

Ive had an internet account since 1990 - since before the Web. I am a dinosaur. I remember when Mosiac was the only web browser, and there were basically no web sites. I am talking pre-Yahoo, pre-Google, Pre-point and click, old school computing. I was on a VAX machine, running VMS, helped run a MUD (sort of an Everquest but text based) at John's Hopkins called "JediMUD" - google it and see if you get any hits. Command line interface, no pretty colors. You had to know UNIX to do anything, including write a paper, and used editors like vi. I assume most of you have no fucking clue what all this crap is, like using Bolean searches from a cshell - Archie was my tool for finding things on the net. Anyone, anyone at all remember Archie searches?

Well, thats who I am. Im the old guy, who is trying to help fill the gap in the grow section of this nice site. I admired Weedguru_Higher for his dedication and hard work in the grow area, and tried to help contribute to the idea that you, yes YOU should grow your own, instead of buying pot.

For a small investment you can have POUNDS of pot several times a year. Its a damn weed, and it grows like one. It can be as easy as throwing some seeds in your backyard, or as techno as airoponics using nutrient solutions and 1000 watt Metal Hallide and High Pressure Sodium lights in your closet, or your attic, or your spare bedroom.

I am here to help, and to encourage you all to stop throwing money at drug dealers and start growing money on trees - pot trees, and smoking for free.

its a fun hobby, and the results are amazing. If you ever wanted to have, say, 8 ounces of the best pot you ever smoked at your fingertips every 4 months for a cost of about $30 an ounce for the first year, and then basically free after that, then I am your friend. Ask and I will tell you how.

I'm really glad animal and asmodeus truly know the differences between quality and quantity of posts and knowledge when it comes to making such decisions.

Thank you everyone for the kind responses to my introduction. As I said Im glad to help anyway I can, and that includes listening to suggestions regarding the whole "grow" area - do you think it works well as is (I think so, basically, and dont see any HUGE demand for an overhaul) but if you see gaps, areas that need attention etc. please let me know via PM or whatever. I cant promise anything except that I will read all serious comments with the attention they deserve.
