Recent Moderator Resignations

Hey people,

I had hoped we could try not to make a big deal out of a throughly bad situation, but it seems best if at least i outline the issues regarding the sudden mass resignations, that hung over weedguru through xmas and the new year like a dark cloud full of both snow, hail, lightening and thunder.

We have had a few very annoying and intrusive problems with the forums in recent months. COntact between me and Asmodeus has been irritatingly sparse and infrequent but we did discuss the issues(early december), and together we decided to restrict some access to the ADMIN PANEL of the forum.

We looked at ways we could minmize access to the ADMIN PANEL, and we decided to temporarily(maybe permanently) withdraw Moderator access to the 'Ranks' and 'Wording' sections, which are in the ADMIN PANEL.
Now the reason we chose these particular powers was that we felt that they were the powers used the least by the moderators and the least essential to moderating. it is not very often that the ranks or wording functions have been used.
Also these powers were needed, really, when there was no active Admin on the site as someone needed to be able to make the changes, however seldom, to the ranks or wording sections. But there has been a active admin :Me on here almost every day for the last 4 months, so the need for the moderators to have this access isnt as great.

Now I concede that perhaps the way I Announced the changes to the Moderators may have been rather misguiding/mixed up/abrupt, but this/these mistake(S) in NO WAY WHATSOEVER warranted the abuse that I recieved from the moderators.

There are some other issues also, but the crux of the matter is that my action of restricting moderator access to the ranks and wording sections of the ADMIN PANEL, though intended to make the site more secure(kinda in preparation for the update that Asmodeus has finally got round to doing, cheers mate!), in reality brought about some very bad energy.

I didnt ask them to resign, I didnt threaten to ban neone. I dont care if any of the modeators who have resigned, stay or leave, that is really of no consquence to me as an individual, but it would be a large loss for the wg community as a whole as they have given a great deal to the site.
Let me make this clear though, I havent asked neone to leave the site, and I didnt ban neone.

The moderators who have resigned did so on their own steam.
If you think I am making myself to be more important than the site, as many of the moderators seemed to think, then you would be wrong.
They mistake an admin taking a active interest in the site for megalomania and a myriad of other colourful adjecdtives and nouns and other word kinds!

Anyway, I hope for the rest of the weedguru members, that the mods who have resigned can put their crazy misplaced(in my opinion of course, i know you guys feel quite different!) hatred for me to one side, and keep inputting into a site they have helped immensley to make what it is today and will be for ever and ever......

So if anyone feels the need to rant and rave at me, then i will try answer all pms, as i have been doping, but please can everyone try not to make this bad energy intensify and manifest itself in the main forums as ongoing -ve threads that are no good for neone....
