recent 'developments'

Well i've been following the latest events with some interest, and thought it best if i posted my take on the situation to try and sort a few issues out.

Basically Dan came back to the site after an absence and was pretty unhappy with how things appear to have turned out. He recommended these forums to a few of his friends, and they got back to him with a judgement that it was full of gangster, thuggery and people wanting to look 'hard'.

This is obviously very dissapointing as we both had a vision of the atmosphere we dreamed of within these boards, which we achieved a while back, but which seems to have dissapeared of late.

this anger inspired an action which a few people believe to have been way over the top. For some of this he has apologised to the individuals concerned and made attepts to amend. From some this was met with a complete lack of respect for him, which i find quite appaling frankly.

jus.me has subsequently been banned, not for 'calling him a cock' as seems to be the current impression, but for making no attempts to show any respect, and continuing in an unacceptably abusive manner after being politely asked to be more appropriate with her posts.

I am fully behind Dan with this, and make a plea as it were, for future posts to show people respect. I appreciate people may have bad days, but to continue to abuse people, flame and generally intentionally hurt peoples feelings will result in a warning, or extreme cases a straight ban.

You may feel that jus.me has been made a scapegoat, but I dont believe this is the case. I have read her posts, and I would have done exactly the same as Dan, but without apologising and letting her back on.

I would appreciate it in future you can all treat people with respect, dont flame people, and enjoy these boards. I want to be able to come here to enjoy reading what has been said, not to regret creating weedguru due to people being afraid to say anything for fear of savage flaming.

Im happy to hear your thoughts on this, and any constructive thoughts you may have on what may be a good way to improve the atmosphere to a more chilled out amicable forum.

so... what does it take to earn respect around here. Cos i have seen a lot of people take flak for very little. One specific example of this would be the guy who got mugged, and subsequently related to being a soft pussy with small bollocks. I havent dwellt on this guys previous posts, but he might be the soundest, funniest, most intelligent guy around - but he was shown no respect whatsoever. again, this pissed myself, amongst others, off very much indeed.

Well I wasnt talking about that guy, I was talking about Animal, you said he deserves respect, to a certain degree yes but when he gos off at people for no reason(dont take the mugging thread into account for this)then that doesnt grant respect from me. You show other people respect you get respect back

Also in that mugging thread, take away people calling him a pussy and faggot, people were expressing their opinion that he should of stuck up for himself and should of been taken as a mug.

Alright Asmo I'm sorry for going off, had to have my moment. It's just that I agree with what you're saying with such a passion that it kinda made my head pop, apologies.
