Startup related question....

My friends got a laptop that he wanted me to take a look at. Well everything started out A OK and was running fine. I defragged his computer then I went to disk cleanup, the disk cleanup started then his laptop just shut off. I tried to restart it again and it would turn on then just turn off on its own. I let it sit for a while then it started up just fine again. I started to get ready to install Mcaffee on it, then when I plugged his laptop into the internet it just shutdown again outta nowhere. I'm thinking maybe it's a worm, Is there anything I can do so I can get his computer fixed?

I don't much about laptops or how they're put together, but it sounds to me like a heating issue. As in overheating.

I guess, you should make sure all fans on the system are running. But if it is heating, and since it's a laptop it should probably be serviced by professionals.

can you tell me what specs there is? i dont really know much about laptops but i do know when people fuck with their processors they forget to put the heatsink back (im not sure if thats the problem because if they forget that then theyre pretty much fucked) or it could be that your hardrive over heats and you need to put the lap top on something that will let more air flow into it?
