almost set house on fire

so it was just me and a buddy, and we smoked at my house, and at some point i decided to cook some sausage i had in the fridge on the stove. then we ate them and it was all good.
but then we decide to walk to a nearby 7-11, and when we return like 1 and a half hours later, my kitchen is all smoky and smells like shit, and i realize i never turned the stove off. and my parents were gettin home in like an hour.

has anyone actually started any fires on accident?
