Yeah I do speak frenglish a horrible lot. It's kinda funny cause it just comes out that way like automatically. I talk with alot of billingual people, we all speak that way and understand each other. But when it happens with somone who only speaks one of the two languages, it can get rather funny. I have trouble remembering which language a written word is in. Some of the english to french translations resemble vrey closely. I talk in english say a word them I'm like uh..is that word english? Happens more in oral than written though, when I type I have time to think what I'm writting.

Hah yeah like France french TV shows, they have really weird tones like they're in the middle of asking a question and they all of a sudden stop.

I was raised english, but brought up in a french environment (Fredricton N.B.) My Grandparents and their brothers and sisters always spoke french to me, and everybody at family reunions speaks french. I also took french immersion from grades 1 - 10. Now I only use it for numbers during regular english conversations cuz it sounds funny. I would speak french all the time if I had people to talk with, and a reason.

Exact same for me! but when I stopped talking to my parents around 14, went to a more english high school, and started hanging around with my more english friends..I kinda lost my french. But ohhh I'm practicing my ass off to get ready for living in Montreal. I went there recently and found myself very frustrated just trying to give my order to a waitress. I guess I need more practice! I've got my bescherelle (if you've been in french class, you know what that is!) and I'm taking a french course in September. Just to perfect my grammar...so many DAMN rules in french!! ARGH féminin et masculin can go to hell...

I never speak frenglish though! Fuck that! Well, only if I forget the word mid-sentence..which is embarassing. AHHH I can't wait for quebec :P

Any idea where abouts in Canada you plan to go? Alberta seems to be the hot spot.

Shwoot.... Last summer my family brought me to PEI for a weeklong bike trip.... Uhhh I remember like Halifax, Charlottetown, Anne of Green Gables, n some other places.... it looked all nice, but it rained like everyday.

As for the actual topic.... I live in upstate NY so everyone speaks english.... but my sister lived in Chilé for a year... so we talk in spanish. So I'm fluent in both.

Halifax is in Nova Scotia actually, close though. Maybe you stopped there or a flight landed there?

Flew from US to Halifax to Charlottetown in a day... I should have figured they were in different provinces... I'll never fully understand those.
