Welp...
I work in a factory that makes plywood... so there is stacked wood all over the place.. I was done my shift and was walking out at 11:58 and the second I was just past a pile of wood (which stood about 25 feet high, and weighs tones) when it fell. If I had walked by it no more than a second before I did.. I would have been crushed like a bug. The sound shocked me and the wind alone pushed me a meter forward, during which my life flashed before my eyes. Literally, which is scarier than it sounds. I was so shocked that I stood there for no more than a minute then ran to my car without punching out.. I started to drive home at which point it all hit me. I started crying uncontrollably thinking about how one second made the difference between life or death.. and how unsafe it is that something like that can just happen.
I'm still stunned and I just took a few sleeping pills so I'm gonna go pass out
Holy shit. You're very lucky and blessed to have not been hurt badly or even killed. I'm glad to know that you're okay, but that place sounds a little unsafe.
I used to work for a homebrewing wholesaler. We moved our warehouse over a two day weekend. On that Sunday, we had this really rickety shelving made of aluminum and tin with a TON of weight on there.
There were probably around 130 wine kits stacked on those shelves...at 30 lbs a box. And the top shelving had carboys (23 Liter glass bottles) stacked fairly high.
I was tired of being in the warehouse, so I decided to go outside to sweep and clean around the loading dock. All of the sudden I heard from the open bay door, a guy scream "HOLY SHIT!" and then I heard KABOOOM!!
The whole thing collapsed. Not 15 minutes before that, I was picking an order to be shipped and I was pulling wine cases off the shelf in a hurry. I noticed that the shit was wiggling like crazy.
If I had been under that shelving when it went, I'd probably be dead today. So me and jus.me have our own war stories at unsafe work environments. Anyone else?
My god although I am not religious, I would have to say you had a angel watching over you! Glad you are ok.
I understand a bit about what you are saying, I've had a few close calls myself. The feeling of your life flashing before you in seconds, is kinda unexplainable. I have yet to be able to describe exactly what its like. Trembling, crying is all part of the shock process, its normal I had it too.
DAAAAAMN!!!! that shit's hella scary. im so glad you missed that shit, that would have been so terrible.
once when i was drivnin with my mom some dumbass almost fuckin hit ou car on my side so i would have been smashed to shit and dead in the passengers and my mom would have lived but had injuries. ive almost been hit by cars like a few times. all i can think of ri now.
There have been many times in Manchester centre where I have been so close to being hit by a bus. Scary shit. Like once i was leaning on the post that distinguishes where the bus stop is, and my mate just dragged me to the side a bit. I wondered what the fuck he was doing, coz he nearly pulled my shoulder out it's socket, then i heard a crash, turned to my left and the bus had just completely wiped out the post i was leaning on.
Death is the only certainty. EVERYTHING else is variable.
Holy shit, that's more than scary! Good thing you're alright Just me! The only scary thing at my work is our ghost, and she more annoying than life threatning...damn...
Wow, near death experience, you'll start feeling better soon (k)
lots of love and hugs and whatever you feel comfortable with

Computer games don't affect kids. I mean, if Pac-Man had affected us as kids, we would all be running around darkened rooms, munching magic pills, and listening to repetitive electronic music.
Oh man dude, Un safe work areas where you aern a living is the least you need man. The only thing about my job is that The crusher that crushes the card board [supermarket ] is that its dangerous and people lost arms in that shit and almost died from blood loss trying to crawl through the base ment and over boxes and bags of leaking stinky garbage. The last story I heard brought my mood down and it sucks how this guy that got caught in that machine had to go through a change of like ya know ?, damn. Im glad to hear your still on that site and not on the night flight to the Gates of i dunno what. damn dude.
