What the fuck was Mugabe doing at the popes funeral?
Im not religious at all. But this morning i woke upto the popes funeral on 3 different chanells on tv. In the crowd was robert mugabe, what the hell was he doing there? hes banned from europe and america, i know that the vatican city is a country in its own right and doesnt have to adhere to european laws, but in my eyes this isnt on. the bloke has had countless amounts of people killed and it seems as if the vatican have let him in with open arms
Cameron.

He's allowed to the Vatican as it is a seperate state and has a treaty pact with Italy. Allowing dignatorys visiting the Vatican no matter what their status within in the EU to land in Rome and proceed to Vatican City.

I think the organisers of the funeral wanted to put away political differences, Zimbabwe should be represented by their head of state as there are millions of catholics there. I dont like him either but it was more about the pope then anythin else. Respect to the bloke he, even in his death brought together leaders that despise each other and shows that he was really respected. Man because Mugabe and the Iranian president etc were there it was even more special.

that seems about right...no one is invited for state funerals. dignitaries are expected to turn up to pay their respects to the dead.cainedtom wrote:I think the organisers of the funeral wanted to put away political differences, Zimbabwe should be represented by their head of state as there are millions of catholics there. They say Mugabe "caught Prince Charles off guard" when he shook his hand
I think he's got a right to be there unless told otherwise by the organisers. Sure he's evil but he should feel right at home, given the company he was in. He's doing something right anyway, he's no worse thqn Saddam.
Look into my eye!
