.mp4 to .avi converter?

Any one got any easy ways of converting an .mp4 file to a .avi file? I am so frustrated, I am trying to make a movie on windows movie maker, and it doesn't accept .mp4's...

River Past Video Cleaner is the only one Ive tried so far. I only did one short clip but seems to work pretty good. Ill look into it more tonight and see if I can find any better ones.

Download a WMV encoder, then it should be able to work in MovieMaker.
*Actually, not sure if it'll convert .mp4's, but it's worth a shot.
