fungus consuming plant, help please

Post by Spydy007 »

throughout growth and harvest and still today, there is I guess a fungus destroying my plant. It turns the branch, leaves and bud brown, then breaks it down into la sand-like substance then dust.. wasted. I cut it out, it comes back, it travels through a brach, I remove the branch and it appears elsewhere. Anyone know what this is, how irradicate and better yet prevent it? Thanks in advance!

Better circulation...or maybe the strain isn't that mold resistant.

re: circulation

Post by Spydy007 »

I forgot to mention that I grow outside my bedroom window, with ample exposure to the weather and air circulation. I can say that this all started last last year after the first of the uncommonly numerous storms we've experienced here in So. Cali. It's been the wettest year in recorded history here and sunsequent to each soaking(days of heavy rain) I've cleared out any extra fooliage and shook out the excess rain the plant had trapped amoungst its branches. Is all this rain and moisture in the air causing the mold outbreak? Is there nothing I can do. I have gone so far as to construct a temp roof extention over the plant to protect it from the pounding storms and run-off from the roof, yet the mold continues. Do I scrap the plant and start over in a few weeks? Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated, thanks!

grow indoors, a lot easier, you control all the variables, wind/water/food, dont have to worry about A LOT of things

never heard of this before...

Thanks for your thoughts, think I'm going to try indoor this time, but hey...I was curious about how and why 1 of five outdoor plants, about 4 weeks of maturity (Novenberish), began a second cycle budding from the tops while rest of the plant matured and was harvested like the others in late Nov. into decmber. The top of the 1 plant continued to grow and produce bud thru the end of february, in fact just pulled rest of it yesterday! I haven't, nor has anyone I know heard of this happening. Is this common, and what was the cause? I'd be very interested to know.

Secondly, what is proper or best ways to harvest? Can outdoor plant be spared dieing off after harvested (and kinda hibernate) and servive till day light hours trigger vegitation cycle again.. or is it one round and then ou? Thanks in advance, oh wise weed gurus!

For the first paragraph, If I have understood correctly what happened is that the plant reharvested itself. There are several advantages to reharvesting. First off, you will know what to expect from the plant. The second harvest will be identical in flavor, aroma and potency, Though the downside is that the buds may be smaller. You are guaranteed females in your second harvest. Also, since the infrastructure is still there, it will take less time to bring in another harvest. When you harvest you want to be careful to take only buds being sure to leave enough leaf on the plant for rejuvination to take place. Don't forget that the plant will spread and be a bit bushier because there will be more growing shoots, so be careful if you have limited space.

Take a sample to nearest college and ID it and ask how to kill it. Or nuke the room totally, sterizile EVERYTHING.

For plants use "FloraShield" and "Chi" from General Hydroponics.

while reading about howard marks, and watching his video diary, i learnt that a second harvest from a plant will be of lower quality but higher yield???
apperntly in pakistan and afghanistan etc, they harvest their plants 3 times, instead of the conventional once........
excuse me if i speak shit, im probably battered!
