Isn't his name Osama Bin Laden? Then how come when my mom turned on the news, it was calling him Usama Bin Laden?

...I believe the correct pronounciation of his name would be somewhere between an O and a U, which would explain Western news reporters pronouncing and spelling it both ways. Arabic languages use a different alphabet, remember.

When translating his name from Arabic to English, the first letter of his name is roughly an "oh" sound. Some translators prefer the spelling "Osama" and some prefer "Usama." It's pretty simple.

Fun Fact: Osama has about 40 brothers and sisters. I guess in Afghanistan all the people have to do for fun is just get laid all day.
