By the looks of some of the stuff TOOL does (especially visual wise) I'd probally say with a few mushrooms or tabs of acid sticking out of your mouth

But TOOL is pretty sweet stoned.

Stoner rock? Come on... None of these guys are stoners.. the're the kind people that'll smoke DMT and write a song about the trip. Here's part of a quote, talking about psychedellics : ''They reach a little bit of spiritual enlightenment, but they end up going, 'Well, now I need that drug to get back there again.' The trick is to use the drugs once to get there, and maybe spend the next ten years trying to get back there without the drug.'' The music itself is pretty far off from stoner rock too... It's uber technical/progressive alt. metal....

try listening to some ISIS, too. They opened for Tool when I saw them a couple months ago and they're pretty cool.
