Re: The Random Topic
Fluffed it at the final interview stage fuck sake... Hit me with, "explain a complex structure in simple terms". Mind just freaked out and started talking about if your brain had a facebook page what would it be like. It was as if i was wasted. Was talking complete bollocks.
Next application on the table is to do the accounts for the Europa, it's Belfast's biggest hotel, and the most bombed hotel in Europe. Not really where i wanna be going for, but i was thinking, experience is experience. Although in saying that, I'm really considering not applying for anything else if i don't get it. See, it's for a placement year which i'll have to take out of uni, and when i return, the girls i sit with wont be in my year anymore and they've been a massive help and influence. It's a tough set of scales to balance out.
The whole capitalism vs alternatives is a great debate. Though clearly one that will go on forever. I don't know whether it's the learning all this financial stuff, but I've felt myself losing all my 'hippyish' roots within the last year and siding with the machine. Though like yourself, there are massive moral dilemmas associated with it when i start to ponder all it's tentacles. *mid edit, I have no idea why i just wrote tentacles lol... it was the first thing that popped into mind.

There is thus girl, who is probably the best looking women in the state of Minnesota. There is also chemistry between us, if this works out I think my perception of the world will do a double take. I would even be willing to stay and live up north for her and my goal has always been to move to the south. Women man, the right one can buckle a man at his knees.

Wait, as long as she is not a gophers fan. Being a gophers fan would break the deal.

Wonderful to learn that a magic wind is flowing over and around you, causing you to be centred on the sensations which can drive a man to nirvana, to insanity, to shangri-la, to destruction...I wish you well in your potential maelstrom of amour, my friend. I will be embracing my own savage queen for the next 4 days, to celebrate the beginning of my 35th year out of the womb. I am turning 34, today, but it means I have already lived for 34 years...doesnt it??? hohohoho...to begin this celebratory period of revelry, perversion, decadence, flesh, love, sea, sand, grey goose vodka, average aussie weed, feminine charms brighter than the sun and some fine company for a gathering of a few of the finest of hearts and souls I know here, I am becoming quickly drunkard, listening to and adding to the Classic Hiphop thread, and will soon head to the cucina to begin my mexican feast. Wishing everyone a wicked 24 hours, hopeful of my positive, playful energy flowing through my fingertips into these lines, reflecting out into your eyes and flesh...Good luck with the girl, CTCF.

An acquaintance gave me this as a present for my recent birthday...Its from Saudi Arabia I am led to believe, but is it recognized in the arab world as quality or trash??? My Lady wants it not just nowhere near my skin, but out of the fucking room. As the scent seems to escape its glass confines and is seeping into anything within range. Perhaps it could help keep the spiders away>???? Anyone had any experience with such arabian delights???

I've went two weeks with a deactivated facebook account and I love it. Might as well call it gossip book. I don't care about 90 percent of the shit I read on it and it seems to be used as a status symbol. People I know don't even go out and interact anymore they log onto the facebook or Skype and never leave the house it sickens me. The only thing I miss about it is pissing my republican counterparts off.

Here Here, Facebook does annoy me quite a bit. I never even had a mobile phone until i was 18 and it was necessary. Only got FB last year and that was to facilitate contact with people in uni for groupwork, but even then i prefer emails. The status symbol thing is definitely true, i've always called FB, Virtual Vanity. Though, I'm not gonna lie, I do like the fact that I have some sort of photo album now. Can look back at photos that remind me of holidays and great nights. Apart from that, it's rubbish.
EDIT* save myself from double posting...
Looks like the Ambassador of Israel is paying a visit to my Uni on Tuesday and is making a speech just after one of my lectures. Anyone any thoughts on questions they'd like me to pose, or could word better, especially considering the recent 'prisoner x' treatment revelations. I'm gonna attend solely to get a glimpse at a good public speaking and take notes on how to conduct myself likewise in the future, as for the unspecified contact of his speech, I'm sure I'm likely to disagree with it. Here's to bringing an extra pair of shoes, or am i getting the cultures mixed up?

I'd be incredibly keen to ask questions regarding the most obvious issue which dominates Israel's agenda and global reputation...leprechaun wrote:Here Here, Facebook does annoy me quite a bit. 'why do you continue to break international law by settling your people, expanding your territory on land in the occupied territories???...do you not consider this plain wrong??? Why do you routinely abuse the human rights of those unfortunate people living in the occupied territories??? Why do you react to recognition of Palestine as an observer state at the UN with punitive measures on the Palestinians??? Why did you bomb the fuck out of Lebanon in 2006, savaging their infrastructure, murdering 1000+ civilians, in response to Hizbollah taking one of your soldiers hostage...the same Hizbollah you routinely shoot to kill...why did the Lebanese have to pay such a high price??? Why did you attack the Gaza flotilla??? Did you read of the recent UN human rights report which urged governments and private corporations across the world to consider economic and political sanctions against Israel over its construction in the settlements.???? What evidence do you have of Iran making a Nuclear weapon and why are you allowed to be such a powerful nuclear force in the region???? Do you not agree that there is no peace process, for how can there be, when your government routinely confirms new settlements on land considered occupied territories and illegal for you to settle upon UNDER INTERNATIONAL LAW??? Why are you starving the Gazans? Why did you recently fight yet another 'war' in which you pounded the hell out of a tiny strip of land which homes 1.7million people whom you treat like rabid dogs???'
It worries me, leprechaun, that you seem to believe that you will be presented with an example of good public speaking and worse still an example of how to conduct yourself in the future...There are few governments in the world whom I find more treacherous, murderous, barbaric and horrendously powerful in all the wrong ways.
I hope that helped! And be sure to give us your report of the speech. I pray that someone confronts him on the general gist of the questions above.

Awk, I really did just mean that I wanted some ideas on presentation skills... I'll be doing a lot of speeches and presentations myself, so i wanted to get a glimpse of someone who was well experienced at giving speeches, i.e when to raise your voice etc, all the usual stuff we already know, but find hard to put into practice. And credit to the man, he spoke well. Like any trained orator.weedguru_animal wrote:It worries me, leprechaun, that you seem to believe that you will be presented with an example of good public speaking and worse still an example of how to conduct yourself in the future...There are few governments in the world whom I find more treacherous, murderous, barbaric and horrendously powerful in all the wrong ways.

However, like yourself I would have loved any sort of answers to the questions similar... and no surprises here, can you guess what? Questions were only allowable in the form of prepared questions made by some lecturers and heads. And as for the unspecified speech. Well, an hour and a half of economic waffle, promotion of industry and strengthened relations with 'the west' (I swear, if i was playing ambassador bingo, the amount of times he mentioned 'the west' I would have won in minutes).
All in all, i can only conclude that it was dull. All apart from the way he spoke, which was my reasoning for going, of which I'm somewhat happy about. And not a light was shone on anything i'm afraid to say, although, let's be honest, we would have been kidding ourselves to expect nothing more than a well paid politicized tourist advertisement.

Re: The Random Topic
I gathered your aims, mr leprechaun, and I guess I just got a little carried away with my ranting and raving...as I am prone to do so, especially when my blood in heated up by certain regimes, such as the israeli government. Also...I guess there is a part of me that sees Ireland as knowing a struggle, knowing what its like to have an occupying force dictating your lives, an occupying force which can muster strength hugely more potent and advanced than anything your own people can collect and fight with. With this in mind, it seems somewhat odd for Israeli to wish to engage Ireland in any manner, for they are arguably the most monstrous occupying force in the world. There seems something amiss there...All their exports should be boycotted. With their control over the shite house and therefore the UN, they will never get sanctions, so we must apply our own sanctions!
