Telling parents...

Iv been caught twice trying to get weed, by my parents. The second time i said i wouldnt do it again but obviously i didnt keep my word Haha Im thinking of telling them that i smoke just so i can stop hiding it from them and its so hard to get my weed out of its hiding place without making it obvious im up.to something.
Both parents have had bad experiences with weed so its going to be very difficult to explain and if i make any mistake im screwd!! So can anyone help me out on how to explain??? Thanks:)

I think your only hope is really by comparing it to alcohol and assuring them you aren't going out drinking. Marijuana is a safer alternative.

Thanks for the replies! .. I dont really expect them to.let me smoke inside i just hate lying whenever they ask what i done all day and theyd be more understanding if i told them then me coming home stoned or them finding a bag!

The best thing you can do is to be honest about it if you think they can handle it. Also you should explain to them how it actually works and why you are out of danger of becoming...ahem… “addicted to weed”.

I wouldn't even try that angle. You can for DAMN sure get addicted to weed. My life: case in point.

Yeah man, ye can definitely get addicted to it. It's more fair to say that it is not an addictive substance, but with any substance, there is always the chance of becoming addicted. It's like alcohol in a way, in the sense that it's not really addictive in the sense as coke or tobacco, but there are people who become addicted to it.

At the end of the day, we do need to catch on to ourselves and say, look, weed is a drug. It will change you, even if but slightly, no matter what reason you are using it for. A mean, don't get me wrong i love the stuff as much as the next guy, but i'm not gonna pretend it's gods gift to wasters.

Actually leprechaun, I'd say alcohol is more addictive than cocaine. Maybe just because of it's availability. But also, you can get deadly withdrawals from alcohol, but cocaine has no physical withdrawal at all. food 4 thought

Hmmm, your probably right about the availability thing. There's an estate near where i live where you're always closer to a bar than you are a church. Bit of an odd statistic. Also the price of alcohol doesn't help either. Interesting wee thought there.

As much as i wish this were true, it isn't. It may make people think in more depth about things, but it certainly doesn't make them any more intelligent. Only learning can do that. I suppose, seeing as weed helps people think more deeply, therefore creating the desire to learn more, it can act as a catalyst for an increase in intelligence....

Now I'm losing myself.
