plant very lanky not busy what gives?

Hey all. I got Dutch passion orange bud going on like 20days of flowering its like 4ft tall but it just has long stems not bushy at all. many many bud points with a lot of pistols. Its running on. 250w hps. Is there something wrong. I've only seen male plants grow this lanky. Also would putting 2 cfls hanging on either side help? And if so what kind and watt. ThanksThanks

Supplementing with extra light will help; wattage doesn't matter because any amount will help. You want "soft white" light. You can go overboard, but I kind of doubt you will considering your minimalist setup. For the sake of simplicity, the more the better.

Generally, plants get lanky when they're trying to reach the light. You probably have it too high up.
