WOW at some of the responses in this thread. it's not okay for a woman to get an abortion because she had unsafe sex? REALLY? the fuck is wrong with you? when a woman is pregnant she has to go through doctors visits, buy new clothes, experience morning sickness, eat for two, can't work for six weeks, plus the aftermath of giving actual birth . . . a lot of the time alone. and a lot of these women having children out of wedlock are looked down by their community. so just because a woman and the guy who got her pregnant had unsafe sex she has to go through that? because it's 'wrong' to abort a clump a zygotes? give me a fucking break. it's no ones fucking business what a woman wants to do regarding her own body and pregnancy. so much misogyny in this thread, makes me sad.

but the female does not.... does the woman have more rights because it is in her body? even though the child genetically is split 50/50?...

most abortions are formed in the first trimester, and aren't "children." they are not capable of pain nor are they conscious.

Whether or not a fetus is capable of pain or consciousness isn't really something we can decide, people will believe whatever they want to believe. It's irrelevant anyway. If someone has a neurological disease that prevents them from feeling pain, is it OK to hurt, or kill them? What gives you the right to do that to a fetus? The whole "oh it's a leech, a parasite on the woman's body" is bullshit. You made it. Just because it's dependent on you doesn't give you the right to terminate it. Well maybe it does, but in that case we should extend the allowance to allow abortions up to 18 years from conception.

Also as to the "oh they never blame the man, always the woman." I never said that? Way to put words in my mouth. A woman getting pregnant is at least 50% responsible, don't act like it isn't true because it just is, unless she was raped. And if my girlfriend got pregnant, I would not want her to get an abortion, but it's her choice in the end. I doubt she would get one though.
