Animal, it is extremely weird/amazes me that you brought upon this topic as I've always viewed this series as a chick type thing. It may have been from the Twilight thing starting off the whole vampire chick genre schpeal to me.. but is this show really as good as you guys are hyping it up to be? I watched one episode in the middle of the season and it was kinda like buffy the vampire slayer meets Twilight meets some other weird show that I don't know the name of, which didn't really float my boat, but it may have been because I had no idea what was going on and had a weird predisposition to it.

I am unsure what you mean, mate, by 'a chick type thing'...this latest season has become a little weighed down by soppy sookie romance, but does enough with the werewolves, werepanthers, witches, necromancers and vampires...to keep me entertained. I like fantasy creatures, especially those most brutal and vicious, and also cunning...which sums up rather adroitly, the main vampires. My idea of a 'chick thing' would be something soppy, pleasant, ultra nice...NOT throats and hearts regularly ripped out, old ladies stabbed to death, bodies dismembered, blood drinking, blood draining, shape shifting families making their kids fight as dogs for $, and werewolves, vampires, werepanthers, necromancers, latin demons and fucked up witches. Its far more brutal and entertaining than buffy the cuntslayer. Nothing similar at all about the series (buffy and true blood), the only connection is the use of fantasy creatures....I could show buffy to a 7 year old and they would smile and maybe enjoy it, but i wouldn't show true blood to a 7 year old, far too much slaughter, blood and guts for such a tender soul. I am not hyping it up, i just have really liked some of the seasons and am pleased to see some of the same characters once again. There is so little fantasy left in most people these days, an injection of true blood is welcome...
