Re: Dead Island
Open World, First Person, Action RPG, Zombie Survival.....the perfect game
2 hours of play in. Fucking amazing. Stunning, beautiful. The environment really takes you in, very doomed hopeless feeling. Very good zombie AI, gorgeous damage (from skin all the way down to tearing muscles and breaking off chunks of bone to decapitation). The action is fluid as can be, i have never experienced such human-feeling physics in a game before. Can't possibly praise this game enough.
First zombie apocalypse game with a true apocalypse feeling
One of the best games I've ever picked up. 10/10

Re: Dead Island
Dunno about it, doesn't it get boring ?
What I read from reviews is :
Flat
Generic
outdated graphics
melee system is glitchy as hell
the story that was supposed to be there has gone into hiding
I'm just summing up what's keeping me from buying it right now, although they say it's fun I don't see how whacking a zombie and seeing it walk through your weapon to get hits in being fun.

Computer games don't affect kids. I mean, if Pac-Man had affected us as kids, we would all be running around darkened rooms, munching magic pills, and listening to repetitive electronic music.

Re: Dead Island
I have not experienced a single glitch so far. The graphics are pretty, its not crisis but nothing to bitch about. As far as 'flat' and 'generic' ...well, zombies are zombies. That being said this seems to me like the game all be previous zombie games were trying to be. Plus you level up and get new skills and customize your weapons and what not, so there is a lot more to it than the basic "run, shoot zombie, run" of say...left 4 dead.

Re: Dead Island
this is one of the reasons why I don't trust, nor listen to 'critics' comments on anything anymore, especially when it comes to movies. Hell, I try as hard as possible to never even watch trailers for movies anymore because coming in to it with a predisposition thought almost ruins the whole thing behind it on what you might actually enjoy. Critics are what they are... biased people who seek one certain aspect that almost never reaches their expectations no matter what.
Peace Not Greed.

Re: Dead Island
Officially found my first glitch...Chopped 3 zombies to pieces against a wall and after the chunks fell to the ground, blood continued to pour on the wall. It was neat.
A small little gripe I do have with this game (aside of all its awesomeness). When a zombie swings at you, you can cut its arm off mid-swing, and it wont hit you, just like in real life. Beautiful physics, I love it. But, if you say, take a chunk out of their chest instead, that punch still hits you, which doesn't make much RW sense. Oh well

Re: Dead Island
Saw this at my friends. I was hammered and high so I don't really know if it's worth getting. Graphics were amazing though.
I personally recommend checking oneself for OCD at least once every 5 minutes.

Re: Dead Island
I must say that after playing it at a friends' it's rubbing off on me, the multiplayer is an awesome slashfest and they recently patched it so the bugs are gone it seems.
