I knew before watching that this film was going to be visually stimulating, and comic book orientated...so in preparation, I bypassed the police roadblocks screaming DRUG PATROL, grabbed a fine half ounze of decent bud, returned home via a safer route, closed curtains, turned the speakers to HIGH then sat back and smoked....and hit PLAY.

Watchmen did not dissapoint. The characters are well presented, the action is consistent enough to keep me excited...essentially, I loved this epic. Mainly the work of Rorschach, whose story and demeanour is worth the download or rental alone. For he is Who I want to be...hohohoho.

Any film which bothers me when it finishes, leaving me wanting more, involving a mild amount of romance, a brutally honest hatred of humanity, metaphysics and exciting action, is well worth and Animal rating of 8/10.

I hope there is a sequel, and that also, Rorschach returns from the dead...and despite my earlier concerns, this is NO kids flick...

Agree fully on this, I bought the comic before the movie came out and was surprised at how well they did at keeping the story true to the original, only the ending has changed dramatically,but the movie is a perfect balance between action narration and that bit of romance hollywood clichés demand.

No, in the comic he dies much the same, at the hands of Dr. Manhattan I believe in a splash of blood and gore.

same. it was like a death beam of cosmic shit flying through the shitiverse 12 times faster than the speed of shit, it reached mach 4 just from sliding down the shit rope, then the shitaclysm caused in its wake produced this movie that was so bad on a whole nother shitatude it caused tropical earth quakes and made me fire my double barrel shit machine gun..

to those of you who dont understand canadian: the movie was fuckin boring.

The director's cut is kind of unnecessary, just some extra blood and guts as if the movie didnt have enough already.

But I liked Watchmen. Hallelujah!

Might be one of those movies you need to watch twice or a few times to understand it more. I don't know if I was really sleepy or amazingly bored when I watched it but I might have another go in another point in time...In another dimension

Its worth watching purely for Rorschach...one of the liveliest characters I have seen in a film for many moons.
