Men's-rights activists seek right to decline fatherhood

Post by Ziggy »

Men's-rights activists seek right to decline fatherhood in event of unplanned pregnancy
Contending that women have more options than they do in the event of an unintended pregnancy, men's rights activists are mounting a long shot legal campaign aimed at giving them the chance to opt out of financial responsibility for raising a child.

The gist of the argument: If a pregnant woman can choose among abortion, adoption or raising a child, a man involved in an unintended pregnancy should have the choice of declining the financial responsibilities of fatherhood. The activists involved hope to spark discussion even if they lose.

the laws are a bit unfair but theres nothing you can do to change it without making it shitty for the other side.

if men had the option to decline financial responsibility the government would be forced to pick up the slack and give more money towards single women with children.

but i think that in order for a law to be passed allowing men to decline financial responsibility abortion would have to become acceptable. and dont tell me abortion is acceptable already. many women have to fight for their right to get one, and their is a stigma attached to receiving one.

yeah i agree with you abby...
there is still a lot of stigma attached to abortion.
Would be very difficult for a lot of women/girls to get...

I understand the argument they are raising... but im not sure i agree with it...
however im sure there are circumstances where men shouldnt have to pay

i mean legal fights to keep abortion legal. the fight to make abortion legal in some countries.
and the fight with the doctors that often make it difficult to get an abortion during the window of time that it is legal, or the doctors that take it as there personal job to convince women not to get an abortion.

i also think that there are situations where a man shouldnt have to pay child support.
there are some crazy bitches that lie to the men they are sleeping with in order to become pregnant. those bitches should know they could be facing a reality without forced male financial support.

the way I see it, if the women seduces the man its her fault if she gets pregnant or not, if the man seduces the woman its his fault if she gets pregnant. sadly thats not something you can prove in court lol.

I forgot that not all countries are as Liberal as Canada is on most issues. But you do have some points there. I didnt know that there are still fights going on to continue to keep abortion legal though

But what happens if the rubber breaks? And no method of birth control is 100 percent effective, except abstinence.

Just think about all those crazy girls out there who fuck a guy, just so she can get preggers, in order for him to have to stay with her...or even better, mooch off his overflowing bank account.

And you all know those kind of girls are out there

I wouldnt be that fucking stupid as to want unprotected sex without wanting a child and i wouldnt try and force anything on anyone.

Of course accidents happen, but if you consented to sex in the first place, then theres always gonna be that risk, therefore you should shoulder an equal part of the blame.

And yes there are girls who will try and baby trap men into staying with them, but surely wearing a rubber would eliminate some of the risk of it becoming a reality? I mean any girl can say 'im on the pill/coil' whatever and not actually be on it, but you know you're wearing a rubber, there's no way of mistaking that, its right fucking there. Plus rubbers help prevent std's which other forms of contraception dont.
