I remember having little kids records but my first real album I ever owned was given to me by my parents on my 9th Christmas.

It's actually still a bit of a favorite of mine.

Definitely going to have to go with Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon.
Pink Floyd was probably the best band to ever be formed on this earth.

Lust for Life, nothing else can be so joyously cathartic.
When the going gets weird, the werid turn pro.

That has to be Tool's Aenima.
As for why, it's just the overall sound. I've never heard anything like It, nor do I think I ever will.
Yeah, sure. The lyrics are interesting and offer a lot of space for interpretation and add a whole other plane to it, but the overall sound just blows me away.
You can put any song of it on and it'll take controll of me more than anything else going on at the time.
Also, Forty Two & 6 offers the closest audial representation of an orgasm, and I daresay: It beats the real thing.

I personally felt that the pivotal moments of 10,000 Days were rather orgasmic as well.

Achtung Baby by U2..till i started toking I always felt Joshua Tree was the more superior album..but this one time I was totally baked and the start of 'Zoo Station' hit me like a lightning bolt. The guitar soundscapes, the funky, almost new age bassline, the abstract drumming combined with the desperation of the lyrics conveyed in Bono's voice blew my fucking mind away. Not one weak song in the album and something I listen to everyday. If i had to listen to just one album my entire life, it would be Achtung Baby.

Joshua tree was and remains...very special, but...its sooured for me, by the 'i am the saviour of the world', ultra arrogant spastic cunt persona, the dickishly named BONO has become...every one of their songs now sounds the same...and after been forced to endure the latest u2 concert on DVD, christmas day, on fucking repeat, i hate the cunt...he is a pigfucking moron.

Really tough to call.... could be Illmatic, could be a bunch of Pac Albums.. could be sooo many other albums. Out of them all, however, I'm going to go with The Chronic 2001.

Honourable mention to The Roots - How I Got Over

I saw on TV today, this man lost his son, his son died...
So he had him cremated, took his ashes, and then made it into a Diamond ring...
Now he watches his son shine every day.
I just thought about that, while I sit here ashing in this ashtray...

tough choice... im gonna keep pink floyd aside for this, so i'm gonna go appetite for destruction by guns n roses. Not a single lame song on it, i could just keep listening to that album over and over again, each song is brilliant even though most people haven't ventured beyond welcome to the jungle, paradise city, and sweet child o mine. one of the few outstanding albums of the 80's... i like glam but it just isnt down to earth rock n roll, which AFD is.
