Wedding Anniversary Ideas
Hey guys, I need some help here...My parents are soon having their 40th wedding anniversary and I have no fucking idea what to do special for them or get them. My sister is also involved in this. My parents know that we are not exactly superly financially capable, so they are not expecting too much. So what's something special we could do for them on a limited budget? Any ideas? Not just take them out for dinner....something that would be more memorable and long lasting maybe

...Hmm...Is there any particular occasion you're privy to that they shared together that you might be able to recreate somehow? For example, their first date....

If your family is a decent size, and all get along, you could rent a hall and hire a DJ for a small reunion of sorts?
That's what my folks did on their 25th. Or I should say my sister planned and I said, "Uhh, yeah, here's some money to help out."

ooh. big number
uh, making them a really nice dinner complete with flowers and a whole shitload of food that took you a day to cook might work out nicely. toss in some simple $10-15 jewlery from a department store (theres racks there for every flavour, at least here there is...) and like, movies or alcohol your dad likes (no idea what its like where you are but $25 seems good) n yeah.
together, might cost you only about $30- 40 for food (providing you have basic things in your house like milk, butter, some salt and pepper n a couple of other seasonings etc) then presents at another $40 (if you dont know what else, get two $20 gift cards to someplace, even the drugstore cause they forsure go there)
$20 - a card + a cheap bottle of dinner alcohol if theyd like that.
between you and your sister $45/50 each.
and its homemade too, so they could be all "aww, children, thank you. even if this sucks. the effort was nice
"
hope that cuts it since they know you can't give em much to begin with?
or 2. just take them out for dinner at an all you can eat restaurant ($20/person (on average saturday night for dinner) + drinks #? )and get them a card and try and be heartfelt n hope that cuts it...who knows. that, between you and your sister with a card, maybe $45 each again?
good luck with your quest tho

Yeah that homecooked fancy meal idea sounds pretty good, it's something my parents would really like, they'd appreciate it even more than a restaurant
Keep the ideas coming guys

Unisex strip club.
Seriously though, homecooked meal sounds great plus it's cheap. If you know there's a particular place they like take them there, if you're looking for something a little nicer maybe tickets to a spa or one day cruise. Something they can do together.
