I've always known:

Meat and vegetables grilled on a wooden or metal skewer is a kebab or shish kebab...

Shaved, spiced meat (lamb, possibly?) mixed with a sweet, milky sauce smothered in onions and tomatoes wrapped in a pita is a donair...
