Dumbass law (louisiana)
from bbcnews.co.uk
US town set to ban saggy trousers
A man wearing low-slung trousers, exposing his underwear
Low-slung trousers are fashionable among some young people
A mayor in the US state of Louisiana says he will sign into law a proposal to make wearing saggy trousers an act of indecent exposure.
Delcambre town council unanimously passed the ordinance earlier this week making it a crime to wear trousers that show underwear.
"If you expose your private parts, you'll get a fine" of US$500 (£254) Mayor Carol Broussard said.
Offenders will also risk up to six months in jail.
Fashionable
Speaking of people who wear saggy trousers, Mr Broussard told the Associated Press news agency: "They're better off taking the pants off and just wearing a dress."
White people wear sagging pants, too
Mayor Carol Broussard
Town attorney Ted Ayo said the ordinance expands on the existing state indecent exposure law by adding underwear to the list of forbidden exposures.
"This is a new ordinance that deals specifically with sagging pants," Mr Ayo said. "It's about showing off your underwear in public."
Some residents say the ordinance targets blacks, as low-slung trousers are fashionable among hip hop fans.
Mr Broussard denied it was racially motivated.
"White people wear sagging pants, too," he said.

Computer games don't affect kids. I mean, if Pac-Man had affected us as kids, we would all be running around darkened rooms, munching magic pills, and listening to repetitive electronic music.

its bullshit.
its TOTALLY a racial thing. They make it indirect by saying that they have a problem with the trousers, but really, they dont. They have a problem with the people wearing them.
Or it could be an anti-youth thing. "Those damn young'ns ageen"!
whatever the hell it is, they should concentrate their great political geniuses to cleaning up their own backwards from Katrina, even if it has been after a couple years.

It's a completely different town from New Orleans, as far as I know, a town not affected by hurricanes at all. It's still a dumbass law, if I lived there I would always wear sagging pants just out of spite. Is a cop really going to write someone up for that? I would fight that law in court, there's no way it's constitutional.
I personally recommend checking oneself for OCD at least once every 5 minutes.

It's amazing the things people take interest in and devote their time to change...why not make a change in something worthwhile. It's people like this that are partially responsible for the way the world is today...people start focusing on stupid stuff cause they know they can probably change it and get noticed for it...their philosophy: any publicity is good publicity

And don't start the freaking slavething again mate, it's been a long time now, people aren't what they were back then. Yes there's still racism, but at least you guys have the same rights now, or are supposed to have them.

I'm sure you'd be pissed at a group of people too if they made it seem like the whole state is full of people looking for handouts. When the truth of the matter is just as many middle class white people lost there homes as blacks did. The media doesn't tell you about all the white people pulling together and rebuilding their homes and people coming from all over the world coming to new orleans to help and rebuild.haki789 wrote:no there pissed cause they can't beat us any moreDr. Greenthumb wrote:The white people are just pissed at black people because of all the bad publicity they made for louisiana after the hurricane.xzxandrewxzx wrote:does the south still hate black people?
Instead all you see on the news is what a dangerous place new orleans is and how all the blacks have been left without homes because of how bush hates black people and let the levees(sp) break. When nature kicks you in the ass you need to get back up and rebuild or get the fuck out but sitting around and bitching about it isn't the solution.
