Does Canada drug test?

Hello I live in the usa in socal and just about 90% of good jobs seem to do drug tests.

Anyway I was just wondering if employers in Canada do the same or if its completely different there. I mean the only thing in my system is weed which i don't consider that a drug but other people do.

Ived just been kinda interested in Canada recently since ived had some family and friends visit and live there.

Weed is decriminalized in Canada, so I wouldn't think that many jobs would drug test you for weed. I don't know though

There are still some jobs that would do a drug screening here in Canada. You only get tested if you're going into the military, police, firefighter...shit like that.

yeah but for those kind of jobs u already know in advance u'll have to be clean for 30days so not like a random job telling u tell have to test u asap


as for cops on the streets catching u, the only thing they do is tell u to do it somewhere else or they'll tell u to throw it away, but if u do a crime and u get caught with weed they'll add that up on the papers just to be sure u get more punished

I had two mates who had to quit smoking for that shit... One was working at the kruger ( paper industry) the other was going for the firefighter formation but didn't make it.

Weed is illegal, but most cops don't do anything about it; they'll take it away (and probably smoke it later), tell you to put it away, pretend they never saw it, take you home and tell your parents (happened to a few of my friends ) , or if they're in a very bad mood they might give you a fine.

And yea, like everyone else said, most jobs won't test you, some government jobs might though, although I have a friend who's mom is a nurse and she smokes weed.
