Re: thinking about going on anti depressants
i kno exactly how you feel there, i have had it all my life too, i thought nothing of it, i thought it was normal, and i battled with myself to at least act happy all the time. it was easier around friends, and i am usualy happier when i am with people, but once i am alone (which is alot of the time) i just cant escape my own mind, thoughts and depression, last two months it got worse, it happens regardless of whether i am with friends or not, its more like constant up's n downs, i feel like a fucking yoyo, its been about 2 months since it got worse, n i not long seen the doctor, i gotta have more tests done on wednesday, but he sed so far as he can tell i have bi-polar disease (and being as my family have a history of mental illness, and my dad and grandad both suffered it to (and it is heriditory) and my mother has had lapses of depression... so not looking so gr8 from here, but i dont want to go on n on, it will start the depression again, and i am trying so hard not to let myself keep slipping. but oh well, after wed i will b perscribed anti-d's and i will be off to see a shrink too ta help me with it, fingers crossed.abby wrote:so i had a realy long and serious talk with a friend of mine a few days ago, and the conclusion was he suggested that i go to the doctor and try anti depressants. he says he has suffered from depression for years now and it sounds like i should get help. i never seriously thought i had something wrong with me, chemical inbalance, but he told me feeling sad and low eveytime you are alone is not normal. and ive felt that way my whole life. i only feel normal/happy if im surronded by people/friends and as soon as i have time by myself to relax and think my mood turns. and sometimes i only pretend to be happy infront of friends so they dont feel bad or know somethings wrong, and if i let that slip they all notice so i just cover it again.
also, good luck with ur situ abby, hope u get it sorted
