how to break/cut/drill through stone?

Post by spidermanlovesmj »

hey guys,
alright so my attempt at a wooden pipe wasn't TOO great, and my glass bong just shattered completele lol (well, the one i was making)...
so i think i may try to make a stone pipe.

now i don't have any experience stabbing stone, so i was wondering if anyone here can tell me how i can drill a hole through stone?

let me know pleaseee
thanks!
peace

E

PS: also, shaving stone (like, the equivalent of sanding wood down, i was wondering about stone. would i use a sanding stone? kinda like, a brick, but sand paper ish.)

if your making it out of stone, you need the right kind of stone, im pretty sure thats soap(or sand)stone, its a very pourus stone and easy to shape, and i think you use files or special chisels, but you may be able to use sandpaper.

and as to your wood pipe, you need a wood that doesnt burn easyly, i just fineshed making a wood pipe, then i found out that two seconds under a lighter and its on fire. the most common wood used(professinal) pipes is called briar, you can also use other kinds, but im not sure what they are, just dont use ceader

to drill thew stone u need a special bit if u use ones ment for wood or metal ull burn it up in the first 2 sec

go to the hard ware store and pick up a drill bit ment for masonry...

and to shape it u can use eather a chisle or a grinding wheel or rotory tool like a dremal... i hope this helps
