how the hell man lol... hole through glass

alright dudes, i got a sobe bottle to make a bong with, but im having a hellava lotta trouble getting a hole in it.. i saw this vid on youtube and a guy just used a nail and an object (knife sharpener, hammer etc.) to blowthe nail right through the glass, piercing it.. so i tried and tried for almost a half hour with no success.. if i hit it any harder, im guna shatter the entire bottle.
any ideas?
trying to make a carb and a hold for the shaft..

also, i heard about using a dremel, with a certain bit, (not sure what it's called), but if you tell me that, please show me a pic of the bit youre talking about, cause i looked online i remember and absolutely nowhere that i found has an image of it, every site had a different bit. so wtf..

glass cutting drill bit, u can pick em up at diy stores real cheap, fit in any adjusting drill ;D JD bottles make wikkid bongs too

me and my friend make glass bongs all the time. you need to get a glass drill bit. its a special carbon tipped bit or something. what you have to do is put masking tape in an X shape over the area you want to drill. once the area is X'd off with tape, have someone hold the bottle steadily while you start to drill into the middle of the X. have someone else take a water-spray-bottle and spray water onto the spot you are drilling every about 3-5 seconds...

the tape X holds the glass together around the hole so it doesnt split/crack.

the water being shot at random intervals prevents both the glass and the drill bit from overheating.

once you have a hole, remove the tape and sand away the inside of ur hole to make room for your glass slide which you can get for about $8 at a headshop. $12 with a generic bowl.

ive made glass bongs out of so much shit. hennesey bottle, random stuff we got from Pier 1 imports.. bong lookin shit around my friends grandmas house. i usually make a bong for friends birthday presents. lol

I was reading something like this a while ago - cutting a hole in glass is normally just about impossible without a glass cutting bit and a special setup. Certain Sobe bottles manufactured at a certain time had this really weak area of glass that you could just punch a hole through, but once word started to go around that they were really easy to make into bongs, i think they changed the way they mold the glass.

You might want to make sure you have the right kind of bottle, you're hitting it in the right spot, and that I have any idea what I'm talking about (because I may be absolutely wrong).
