Yeah, we're going to NY for a weekend, anyone from around there?

What are the prices there? I mean clothing-wise , my mom says jeans and shoes and shit like that are quite cheap in NY so she wants to wait with buying me new clothes until were there, but idont feel like it so

anyone?

i love NYC been about 4 times... the shopping is brilliant and because of the exchange rate everything seems even cheaper and you can get some nice clothing out there that no one sees here in europe. i actually got stopped in the street in london a few times and asked where i got sertain clothes and trainers because they just havent seen them here.

quick calculation would be what is £100 here 130 euro would be a $100 there which exchanges to about £50 = 65 euro but dont forget they then charge you 8% tax on top of the actual price when you pay for your goods

ummm i dont know where in NY your shopping, but ive been to NYC a couple times and the prices get shot up a lot. when i was younger we went to that big toy store there, and the prices were rediculous. its all name brand stores, and because its NYC, they shoot them up. unless your talking about outlets...

Yeah, I've been to New York City a few times and it really isn't my scene. Too much traffic, too much clutter, it seemed drab and gray to me the whole time I was there. Jeepman is right...atleast, according to my experiences (which probably count for shit).

However, there are street vendors there that will haggle themselves down to such low prices it's rediculous. Anything to get their shit out of their hands so they can replace it with cash. Those people down in China Town are the most hilarious street vendors imaginable.

i was in dalls texas a couple of months back and i still found everything cheap there maybe its because you guys are from the states but coming from the uk the exchange rate is well in our favour and im guessing the same goes for europe.

i have mates that come to england from the states and they find it very expensive over here so its deffinatly an exchange rate thing

before i went i exchanged £800 which got me $1500 so that is not far off double my money. i can see where you guys are coming from though living in a major city like london everything seems more expensive than out of town places.

another example top of the range nike shox in london stores are about £130 (exchange estimate $250) i bought a pair out there for $98 (none sale item) exchange that to GBP and its around £50 euro is add a 3rd so thats 65 euro or there abouts that was dallas though so NYC would be more expensive but its still coming in at half of what you would pay here in london stores remembering that london is one of the most expensive citys in europe.

i like my brands and designer clothes so im sure im pretty close in my estimates

I think we'll be going mainly to manhattan/the bay area as we're european tourist and all that

I wasn't talking about buying pot, I'm not gonna take any myself as I know border inspections are pretty tough, especially in NY, and I don't feel like getting a criminal record for trafficking :p
