For fucks sake man, USE THE BLOODY INTERNET
you fucking americans and your disinterest in your forefathers
Oh, in case you're too blind to see there's one european country beneath my avatar
seriously man, I had to learn all fucking 50 states, with their capitals when I was like 12 years old or something?
AND I AM EUROPEAN
so grow a friggin' brain man, and use that brain to store wisdom, not retardedness

Computer games don't affect kids. I mean, if Pac-Man had affected us as kids, we would all be running around darkened rooms, munching magic pills, and listening to repetitive electronic music.

just a small point to note that geographical awareness is knowledge not wisdom...Knowledge can be taken as is from various resources whereas wisdom comes from understanding and experiencing various aspects of life.
Still, it was a dumb question in the first instance...Though I for one lack knowledge of ALL the american states, but it doesn't seem to affect my day to day existence too considerably.

No,but I was able to write down atleast 12 of them before we even touched the matter during geography. It just strikes me that, even though Americans originally were settlers from EUROPE that they just seemed to have forgotten about the old world.weedguru_animal wrote:just a small point to note that geographical awareness is knowledge not wisdom...Knowledge can be taken as is from various resources whereas wisdom comes from understanding and experiencing various aspects of life.

I mean learning about your neighboring countries is a standard down here, we start with Belgium itself and then move outwards, so our neighbors first then entire europe, asia, americas ....
Seriously, about 80% of the americans I know didn't even know Belgium was a country, they thought Brussels was a country
