lets give equal respect to the men and women who lived through the horrors of war, and those who currently live in a state of war. it is a terrible place to be. i have respect to not only the soldiers, but to the citizens who had to live through the horrors as well.

All veterans deserve a bit of respect boys. THeyve seen alot of things that i wouldnt bare to see, but they stuck it out and fight for us. Its just sad when their used like pawns in illegal wars. But the men and women that are fighting do not have political or economical incentives (like dirty politicians...haha sounds weird cuz im a political science major)to do what they do. They do it cuz its their job and they do it to serve their country and will pay the ultimate ultimate sacrifice to do so. That deserves recognition however you slice it.
Cheers,

That line is an insult to all the folk who died fighting to protect not only their own country and way of life but also the way of life and liberty of those from other nations. Pacifists are useless against genocidal, well armed, maniacs. Fighting for peace, fighting to take lives in order to save innocent lives, is necessary in some situations. WWI and WWII were two of those occassions when verbal diplomacy and/or sanctions was completely redundant in terms of halting the rancourous advance through Europe of the krouts.Magnavox wrote:Fighting for peace is like screwing for virginity.

'Pacifists are useless against genocidal, well armed, maniacs. ' is to be applied to a more general range than just the German Imperial Army. Although as 'Genocide' refers to the mass murder of a tribe or an entire people (genos=tribe, people; cide=killing) and a major part of the second world war,1933-45, was Hitler's legalized genocide of the Jews which was carried out by german soldiers, yes i do think that the germans in that period, as a country, were displaying decidedly maniacal genocidal behaviour.
of course they, the Germans, were 'fighting for their country' but what they did was downright evil and they had to be stopped. The only shame is that as ever Britain didn't do much until our own interests were threatened, but then, thank fuck, we fought, tooth and claw, to pound the Nazis into the sewers from whence they were borne...
'their way of life' involved completely stealing the liberty and land of their neighbouring countries and annihilating the Jews. I have no respect for that way of life.

I agree, the Nazi party and wehrmacht were genocidal maniacs. All Britain up to 1939 did was give them the sudetenland, and austria. It was evil, nationalism to that degree makes me sick.weedguru_animal wrote:'Pacifists are useless against genocidal, well armed, maniacs.
