Serene Moments

Post by hubcap »

In the park next to my house theres this small lake with this small gathering of trees near it but out the way. In the middle of them theres the easiest tree in the world to climb wich overlooks the lake.

Last night, well actually i guess this morning, at like 5, 6 am, i went there, went up the tree and smoked spliff after spliff admiring the sunrise on the lake. Fucking amazing.

adn im not sure what my original point was gunna be i assume i wanted to hear like other peoples serene stories

When I was working at the BC wild life park, me and a few of my co workers had to do something in the nature walk, I think a tree had fallen and we had to clear it or something.. anyways, its gorgeous, theres a waterfall, and we blazed there, I pretty much loved it.
God, I loved working there.. always got high lol

I have a stream behind my house, and I used to swim and play in it when I was younger, but the other day when I was smoking with my buddy in my backyard, I remembered a cool spot. We went to a part of the stream where it goes under a bridge on which a train runs :) It was pretty sweet, but the train noise was very loud, and it scared the shit out of me

I love to stargaze with a nice fat J on my porch around midnight during the summertime. One week this past summer I was downing a few brews in the middle of a field with a good friend and we saw a shooting star, and it was the first I had ever seen. Quite amazing, really. A few days later I was behind myself taking a drag on my freshly rolled spliff and I saw another one. I couldn't believe my luck. I really think smoking goes best with nature.

Last Wednesday, first thing in the morning. A few of us dropped some Acid the night before, so we were feeling very in touch with nature. Got driven to a lighthouse that overlooks the ocean. Waited there for a while, gazing at the stars, everything seems magical. The sky begins to lighten, clouds are clearing… we're almost ready for bed at this point, but knowing the sunrise isn't far off, we mission it a while longer. We see some whales kinda doin that jump out a bit and land back in the water on their side thing… And the waves crashing onto the rocks, or if we looked further south, rolling onto the beach…

Then the sunrise... got some pics on my phone, and realised I need to buy a digital camera sometime soon cos my phone camera's shit. Colours were so vibrant, the acid made it seem as though we were looking at it all for the first time again. Then we had to head back home, cranked the stereo, driving down the highway with Cosmic Gate or something playing. Everything was perfect. It felt like I'd seen the world only through 16 bit colour my whole life, now I was viewing it in 32-bit. We were all in a great mood, waving to random old people walking their dogs first thing in the morning and whatnot. Many waved back.

Great night, made many new friends, think I introduced a couple of people to their new best friend too…

I love lieing in fields just staring at the starry sky on acid. I went up to Norfolk a week or two ago and since theres no light pollution there you can see so many stars. I saw some other crazy shit too but hey, i was on acid and thats a story for another time 8)

I actually am always outside when I smoke, I love being in the nature but unfortunately the nature in Holland is not something to brag about, it sucks actually.. some summerdays are amazingly beautiful, but nothing more.

I do remember smoking a UBER FAT joint with a mate in the middle of no where - forest on the island Terschelling (one of the dutch islands in the northern sea) where I had my vacation with my mates. It was wonderful, I enjoyed my joints so much better in the pretty nature with a shiny sun.. aahh I MISS SUMMER >_<

My most recent moment as such was a wonderful experience. I was staying at my cottage with a group of 7 very close friends. After polishing off a fair amount of beer and liquor we decided to go to the beach to look at the stars and share a large joint or two. The night was clear, and we all fell silent. It was beautiful; the crickets sang, the waves lapped upon the shore perpetually in hyponotic succession and bats swooped and dove all around us...it was almost surreal.

My cottage is in a very small town, therefore the light pollution is almost non-existent. As our eyes adjusted to our pitch black surroundings we relished in the overwhelming combination of sensations; the cold sand shifting and sliding between out toes, and an undeniably mutual sense of togetherness. We all realized just how important we are to one another.

After smoking the first joint we found a catanmaran perfectly suited to lie down upon and talk philosophy. Instead we just gazed at the stars. After about 5 minutes of doing this one of my friends comment on seeing a shooting star. I was dissapointed I missed it, but, I had seen a few before...no big deal. Conversation begins to increase, and we all reminisce about special times past...laughing, sharing stories, living!

Another few minutes pass and the sky lights up with what seems to be fireworks! We're bombarded with a meteor shower! Several dozen shooting stars traced exquisitely through the atmosphere over a period of roughly 10 minutes. None of us had ever seen anything like it. It was a testament to the wonderous nature of our planet, and I will carry the memory for as long as I live. Those are the times you cherish most in life.
