quitting weed

Post by monroepq »

So about a month ago I had been smoking a lot.. pretty much constantly throughout the day whenever I had the chance, and if I didn't have any weed I'd just smoke resin. Then I decided to quit though.. numerous reasons, like just being too paranoid, feeling lazy, high tolerance. I wanted to quit cold turkey but I'm sure most of you know that that never works, so I ended up smoking like four days later, then it was a week.. last time I smoked I think it was about a week and a half ago.

My question though is, how long does it take for the effects (and the chemicals) to completely go out of your system? Is non-weed life the same after being a stoner as it was before being a stoner? I'd like to get a job at a place that does drug tests, so I'm interested in knowing when the traces of thc and all that other stuff is gonna be gone. In general, what have your expleriences been after quitting weed for at least a month? After smoking for so long and having it basically become a large part of my life, sobriety (aside from alcohol, of course!) is pretty much a new drug.

One thing though, my memory doesn't seem to have gotten much better yet. I still feel that same lag of time that weed does to me, and in general my short term memory just isn't quite sharp. Did I totally fry this part of my brain?

It would come back eventually I think. And if they guy feels the need to quit or chill out for a bit its up to him. Not everyone is compatible with all drugs. Everyone has their own individual reactions and is effected in a slightly different way. Give the guy a break :)

one of my friends who smoked and then stopped for like a year because he was on color code says all of your memory almost goes back to how it used to be but if you smoke for like 10 years your screwed i think

Basically it just became too much for me. It always sort of made me really paranoid and around the time I quit the negative effects outweighed the positive because of my tolerance. I don't know if I'll start again or not, for now though the whole sobriety thing is pretty cool, believe it or not! I miss getting high like I used to though, and munchies ooh I miss that.

There's a guy I know who's been smoking since he was five.. as far as his brain well I don't know how that is, but he can't eat at all unless he smokes, like it's a serious issue with him, and even when he does smoke he can't eat very much. Who would've thought that munchies was so medical? :P
