world cup predictions

okay me and Asmo had alittle be on predicting the way the groups would finish (1st ,2nd, 3rd,4th place teams) and also we had apop at choosing te winners...
i wont bother putting my group predictions down until i see there some other football freaks about...
but for now my prediction for winners goes to italy and argentina//

common everyone knows its gonna be brazil ending up winning it...even though i hate them soo much, they look most likley to win it.
I want argetina to win it...they are my favorite team of all time since i was 6.

In order of placings in each group.
Group A: Germany,Poland
B:England,Paraguay
C:Holland,Argentina
D:Mexico,Angola
E:Italy,Czech
F:Brazil,Japan
G:France,Korea
H:Ukraine,Spain

i fancy the argies. they have more steel in defence than the brazillians. less flair in attack admittedly, but a better team overall i think. Italy could win it though.

but see argetina's team revloves around one player or 2...mainly riquelme and aimar. If one of them does bad, or misses a game, the whole team fails miserably. Hence the confederations cup final against brazil. But then on the other hand they are unstopable when they both play well, hence the game against brazil in teh qualifiers which they beat 3-1. Not very consistent in back to back games.

Brazil seems to have lots of depth, lets say ronaldinho is missing, they still do good with putting other midfield players instead of him. its right they dont perform as well, but they still manage to win the game.

im not saying they would, just that they could. if greece can win euro 2004 and burton can hold man u, tamworth holding the boro etc, than england reserves can win the world cup. besides; james, young, carrger, campbell, bridge, wright-phillips, carrick, jenas, downing, defoe and bent still looks good on paper, and still better than virtualy every europion nation.
in fact if all those were out injured as well the 3rd choice could still get to the 1/4 or 1/2.

I watched the aussies beat Greece 1-0, last thursday, and I must say the players in gold shirts looked far from impressive...Skoko scored a great goal but he is definately not thekindof player who produces that kind of magic on demand. If you gave me say 15 of those same opportunities that skoko took so well, then i am sure that 1/15 of my shos would fly in, probably more...

Australia lack world class talent. Without world class talent a team can't win the world cup. Greece won the european championships with a mixture of solidarity, organisation, a mad 5-4-1 formation and luck. So, in my mind, a team doesn't need to be world class to win the EURO champs. Greece were boring to watch and grinded out victories by stifling their opponents into almost suicidal boredom. That tactic couldn't be employed in the world cup. Essentially, a world cup can only be won by ateam with world class talent.
Greece were terrible against Australia. The players just didn't seem that interested in winning or even practicing.

It was good to beat the Greeks, especially in front of an 'australian' crowd which was geared more towards supporting the Greeks than the Aussies. But, I would listen to Gus Huddink with belief when he says 'there is much room for improvement'.

My predictions for Australia's group games----
Japan 0-1 australia
croatia 2-0 australia
brazil 6-0 australia

The croatia game may well pan out differently, but for now, that is how i am seeing the future of Australia's world cup. I have to add that Hiddink could well tactically beat CRoatia, depends on their system and depends on the capability of Hiddink's men to doas the boss says inre: stopping croatia.

I hear so many pundits say only brazil england france agentina can win the world cup. I disagree, i think only iran, togo, angola, saudia arabia, south korea, ghana, trinidad, tunisa CANT win the world cup. it is after all 11 men against 11 men (unless the game was argentina italy, then 11 women vs 11 women) defend well, get some breaks, avoid injurys and hope for the best and you never know. it is after all a cup compatision and the world champions wont nessaserly be the best team in the world, the only way to figure that out would be a world league...

I would say the argies and itis are two of the dirtiest teams around. The italians are always cynical in the tackle. It is a terible misconception and/or lack of knowledge to call the azzurri women....Did you never see Gentile??Bergomi???Baresi????Cannavaro????Nesta?????Gattuso????Tachinardi????
I could do the same list for the argies, but my pizza is almost cooked and I don't want to let it burn.Noth much worse in the eating stakes than a burnt shit quality pizza....

International league is a mouthwatering prospect....
